If lip balms were toffees, I could well be the greedy kid who would grab every single one within reach and still implore his parents for more. Lip balms, like toffees, come with temptations galore: some might appeal you for their delightful wrappings; some, their brightly enchanting hues; yet others charm you with their sweet fruity fragrances. You see, this is why I bought Elle 18 Juicy Lip Balm in Juicy Red, among several others, in spite of no apparent requirement. Read on to find out how I liked it.

My Experience with Elle 18 Juicy Lip Balm in Juicy Red:
This lip balm comes in a transparent plastic tube like those of Vaseline and Himalaya lip balms. A black screw cap sits smugly at the tip. You couldn’t expect better packaging for the price it comes at. The tiny nozzle at the tip of the tube releases the lip balm only when squeezed. It could lie with its cap unscrewed for hours without its contents oozing. The quantity of lip balm released by the tube can be effectively regulated with the amount of pressure you apply. It is an efficient, travel friendly packaging.
The color, as seen from the tube is a rich, vivid red, but settles for a sheer red tinge on lips. There are absolutely no chances that it might cover pigmented lips. It is, after all, a humble lip balm; pigmentation and coverage lie in the fiefdom of lip glosses and lipsticks.
The lip balm’s consistency is similar to an average lip gloss, runnier than most of its counterparts which are mostly jelly-like substances. This consistency makes for smooth application directly from the tube. It is not sticky in the least. It makes lips appear plump and full, which was a pleasant surprise for no such claims are made by the company! This lip balm is particularly glossy so wearing it underneath lipsticks would not be a good idea. But have you ever heard of a lip balm that could be worn over lipsticks for a mild gloss? This one is peculiar in that. I think it is a cross between balms and glosses. It moisturizes well, but I observed no considerable action on chapped lips. Its worst feature, however, is its ridiculously low staying power. It stays on lips for nothing more than two hours calling for regular touch-ups.
It smells sweetly of those lacto chocolates (tasteless though, I happened to lick my lips with the lip balm on :P) but doesn’t linger. To sum it all, this lip balm is decently moisturizing, plumping and affordable that can replace lip gloss for a no-fuss look.
Pros of Elle 18 Juicy Lip Balm in Juicy Red:
Moisturizes the lips.
Gives the lips a tint of red without looking over the top.
Makes lips plump and full.
Cons of Elle 18 Juicy Lip Balm in Juicy Red:
Doesn’t heal chapped lips.
Doesn’t last long.
