Today, I am writing a review on Elle 18 nail pops. These were launched some 2 years back and has variety of shades to choose from. They are pretty cheap and comes in a cute round bottles.
Since the shades are not named but numbered, I have named them on my own. The shades I am reviewing today are: 46 (dark pink), 58 (deep grey), 59 (pretty pink), 61 (turquoise green), 66 (dark violet) and 67 (henna green). All are bright shades and would go with all skin tones. Take a look at the nail swatches.
With so many shades of nail colours to choose from, there’s one for every mood and occasion. From dazzling reds to pretty pinks, electric blues, pastel mauves and tangy oranges.(From the website)
Rs.50 for 5 ml
My experience with Elle 18 Nail Pops:
These nail paints come in cute round bottles with black lid. The typical Elle 18 girl logo is imprinted on the cap. The shade numbers are printed on top of the cap. The bottles are very sturdy as well and would not break easily. They can very easily be carried along in vanity case or hand bags.
All these shades have nice glossy finish. They take around 2 minutes to dry on nails. They would last upto a week on the finger nails and upto 2 weeks on toe nails with minimal chipping.
1. Shade no 46 (Dark pink):
This is a very dark wedding-y sort of colour. It would go with matching ethnic wears and in weddings. 2 swipes are required of this shade to give a nice finish.
2. Shade no 58 (Deep grey):
This is a winter colour which would go with formal dresses well. I usually prefer it for my feet but it goes well on finger nails as well. If you are fond of black nail paints, you would definitely like this shade.
3. Shade no 59 (Pretty pink):
This is one of my favourite shades and goes with most of my dresses. It is a very pretty pink and immediately brightens up my hands. I would say this is a summer/spring shade.
4. Shade no 61 (Turquoise green):
This is a very refreshing shade in green, which I simply adore. It goes very well for finger nails as well as toe nails.Only one swipe is enough to give a nice opaque finish. At present, I have applied it on my toe nails and I cannot help looking at it every once in a while. 😀
5. Shade no 66 (Dark purple):
This a deep purple shade, which again, looks better on toe nails. This is a winter shade and is so dark that from far it looks very close to black. Only one swipe is required to give a nice opaque look.
6. Shade no 67 (Henna green):
This shade is a true henna green and looks very pretty on hands. This is an evergreen colour and would suit all skin tones very well. Usually, 2 coats are required for a nice opaque look.
Pros of Elle 18 Nail Pops:
- Cute and sturdy packaging (I know this as I had dropped it once but it did not break :P)
- Huge variety of colours available.
- Would suit all skin tones.
- Have a nice glossy look on nails.
- Easy to remove except the glitter one.
Cons of Elle 18 Nail Pops:
- Would start chipping from the third day onward.
- Some people might find the small brush applicator difficult to use. It is not a problem for me since I have smaller hands. 😛
- The bottle has to be tilted to get the nail paint on the applicator once half of it is over.
- In some bottles, the applicator gets separated from the cap’s inner side.
But at this price, I am not even complaining!
Will I repurchase Elle 18 Nail Pops?
Definitely. I am going to purchase the shades that I do not have. I would repurchase the shades 59, 61 and 67.
Do I recommend Elle 18 Nail Pops?
Yes. If you do not like to spend a lot on nail paints but are nevertheless fond of them, these are definitely for you.
