Hello everyone…. How have you been? I am expecting lots of winter care products review on IMBB these days and here is one from my side. 🙂 Today’s review is for a petroleum jelly from Emami Vasocare products range. I haven’t used any petroleum jelly ever other than our very own Vaseline. Let’s see if it worked better than Vaseline.

Emami Vasocare Petroleum Jelly Review

During winter the harshness of the elements leaves the skin cracked, dry and flaky, robbing it of its natural moisture and glow. Emami Vasocare Petroleum Jelly now provides the herbal power to heal, protect and revitalize the skin from within to ensure 24-hour winter skin-care. This light green jelly restores the skin’s natural glow and offers a pleasant usage experience with its mild fragrance.

Enriched with the goodness of herbs reflected by its rejuvenating tinge of green, it is the first green alternative in the petroleum jelly market flooded with synthetic products.

My take on Emami Vasocare Petroleum Jelly:

As I said above, I haven’t used any petroleum jelly other than the Vaseline one. I have no issues with it as such, just that I find it little heavy on lips. That’s why when I saw this Emami Vasocare Petroleum jelly in my nearby drugstore; I decided to give it a try.
This comes in a small jar packaging with a flip open cap. As the product claims to have herbal ingredients, the packaging is on similar lines – green and white. Aloe Vera, Tulsi and Chamomile being the key ingredients, they are mentioned in the front itself.

Company also claims it to be 5 times more effective than regular petroleum jelly.

It is said to be a ‘lightly fragranced’ petroleum jelly as mentioned on the outer packaging. However, I found the fragrance to be very strong… sort of some pain relieving balm smell. The smell is really irritating and does not give a pleasant usage experience at all, particularly when applied on lips. It has a light green tint, but appears sheer and transparent on application.
Now comes the moisturization part! I prefer using petroleum jelly for my ankles, elbows and feet to keep them moisturized during winters. It works pretty well in alleviating the dryness for these areas and helps maintain the moisture for quite some time. Emami Vasocare jelly is light in texture compared to Vaseline. It feels light on lips. However, it disappears in an hour or so and you would have to re-apply it very soon. The strong smell doesn’t help either. I don’t think it would work for chapped lips at all as it hardly stays for an hour on lips.

2. Not very sticky compared to regular Vaseline petroleum jelly.
3. Works well on dry patches and rough skin on ankle/feet.
4. Really cheap for the quantity offered.
5. Available in 3 variants.

Cons of Emami Vasocare Petroleum Jelly:

1. Heavily fragranced.
2. Does not moisturize the skin for long.
3. Needs frequent applications.
4. I have to dig in my hands to take it out.

Would I repurchase / recommend Emami Vasocare Petroleum Jelly:

No. I think I would go back to my regular Vaseline once this is over. If you want to take a break from your regular petroleum jelly, you may try this out for a change.
