Hope you all are doing well in life. It’s biting cold weather here in Kolkata. My today’s review is about an eyebrow product. Earlier I had reviewed a couple of eyebrow products, and all of them worked great for me. When I was going through a shopping site, my eyes halted on this new launch from Essence. Well I don’t have super thin or sparse brows, nor do I have those perfectly dense dark brows. So I always opt for a nice, natural-looking eyebrow product like powders or creams to give that perfect touch to my brows. Let’s move onto the review.

My Take on Essence 01 Brown Colour and Shape Eyebrow Gel:

Packaging: The eyebrow cream/gel comes in a small, rounded glass container. It comes with a color coded cap with the brand name written in silver fonts. One can find the shade name at the base of the jar. The container is quiet lightweight and compact. Just toss it in your handbag and forget it. I wish it would have come with a handy brush.

Shade: Brown, as the name suggests, is a deep cool toned brown color. It has some taupe touch to it. The shade is absolutely perfect for those with black and brown colored brow hair. The shade gives a completely natural finish to Indian brows. So this is perfect for everyone with dark colored eyebrows.

Texture and Pigmentation: The eyebrow gel has smooth and creamy texture. However, it’s not very oily or very dry. The formulation is actually cream to powder based which helps in super easy application of the product. When you pick up the product on a brush, it feels like a cream. But, upon application, it feels more of a powder based product. The formulation makes the eyebrow gel lightweight, easily blendable and completely waterproof. It neither sticks to brow hairs nor makes the brows look messy. It gives a clean and natural look to my brows.

You won’t always need an eyebrow comb to blend in this product perfectly; a brush is enough for a perfect finish. I apply it with mild strokes using a thin angular brush. The product is decently pigmented. One can preferably use it light or heavy handedly to achieve a very natural finish or bold finish respectively.

Staying Power: The brow gel almost lasts for a whole day on me. And when I did a “smudge proof” test, it passed with full marks. Even if you splash your face with water, the product doesn’t smudge or melt off from the brows.

• I wish they had given a brush free with this gel
• I think availability is limited
• I have seen only one shade in this line, so what about the blondes?

Yes to both! And I don’t think any one of us would prefer to touch up our brows several times in a day. And as per my belief, perfectly filled in and shaped brows is a thing that a girl should keep under wraps. So never reveal this secret product to anyone! 😛
