Today’s review is about Essence Shine Shine Shine Lipgloss – 03 Friends of Glamour. Essence has come up with a new line of lip gloss called ‘Shine Shine Shine’. There are 3 shades with prism glow, which makes your lips extra shimmery and glamorous.

My Experience with Essence 03 Friends of Glamour Shine Shine Shine Lipgloss:
The packaging is sturdy and the applicator is stiff which helps during application. The print on the outer packaging gets eroded over time. I feel the packaging has improved compared to its previous lip glosses.
The colour is basically pink with lots and lots of shimmer. It looks more like reddish pink in the tube but it is more like a dirty rose pink, which suits warmer skin tones very well. The gloss itself has a thin consistency. It glides smoothly over the lips and the colour payoff is really good. The tip of the applicator is comfortable and tapered. My lips look totally glammed up with this gloss on.
I would prefer to use minimum makeup for eyes when I use this product on my lips. When one wears it on lips, it becomes the most prominent part of the face. It enhances the lips in a good way. Even though the product is shimmery, it does not look cheap when applied. It results in fun and glamorous lips. I apply a very little quantity of this lip gloss whenever I use.
When I apply a little extra I feel that it bleeds and also my lips start feeling sticky. The staying power is not so good. It lasts around 2 to 3 hours and then definitely needs a reapplication. The lips kind of feel dry after using the product. It is no way moisturising. The product also gets transferred easily when you drink or eat. Especially the cup will have shimmer particles on them.
It definitely needs reapplication. Make sure the lips are well moisturised before applying the product else it will settle into the creases and not look impressive. The product also has a mild sweet taste to it. When something tastes sweet on the lips I tend to lick it up. I think it’s a natural thing to do and this leads to lower staying power. This lip gloss is perfect for evening or night parties.
