My Take on Essence 05 Lovely Frappuccino Longlasting Lipliner:

Packaging:
The lip liner comes in a fully color-coded, retractable pen. Over the color coded body, the brand name and other such details are printed in silver fonts. The pen is two ways twistable, so there is no problem if you accidently twist extra bullet out, it can be twisted back. The best thing with retractable pens is that you don’t need to sharpen them again and again, which I personally prefer a lot.

Shade:
Lovely Frappuccino is dusty rosy pink shade with mauve and brown undertones to it. The color doesn’t contain any shimmers to it. The shade appears different under different lighting. This shade is a nice MLBB color for medium and dusky skin tones. But on very fair or cooler skin tones, it tends to appear a more deep dusty pink shade. This shade is perfectly suitable for every skin tone and age.

Texture, Pigmentation and Finish:
The texture of the lip liner is creamy soft, and feels comfortable on the lips. Texture wise, the liner resembles a lipstick and glides effortlessly. It’s not so soft that the tip breaks easily during application. The liner is hydrating in itself. One doesn’t require any extra hydration, unless it’s winters or one has super dry lips. It does settle into the fine lines of lips, but doesn’t worsen the dry lip condition.

The formula slightly exaggerates my flaky lips if I don’t apply a lip balm beforehand. I would suggest scrubbing the dead skin off lips, especially during winters. The liner is super pigmented and can be worn solo over lips. It covers pigmentation of lips with one swipe and doesn’t feel cakey upon layering. The finish of this lip liner is matte on lips.

Staying Power:
The staying power of the lip liner depends on when and what you eat. As with light eating and drinking, it stayed on my lips for more than 5 hours. But when I gulped a full meal, the color almost got wiped out. It does transfer to surfaces. When I first swatched the liner on my hands and tried to remove it, it left a strong stain which didn’t go away on its own. The best thing is that the liner fades evenly from lips.

• It is not transfer proof
• Doesn’t survive heavy meals
• Slightly exaggerates my flaky lips, but doesn’t worsen it
