Essence 14 Adorable Matt! Longlasting Lipstick Review

Lipsticks are our best friends, maybe next only to diamonds and shoes! So here I am with another lipstick review. I had first seen Essence Long Lasting Adorable Matt! on a UK beauty blog. The color wooed me, but it was always out of stock online and in the Essence store in my city. So when I finally found it, I was more than ecstatic and immediately ordered it. Read on to find if I found a new love!

My Experience with Essence 14 Adorable Matt! Longlasting Lipstick:

Packaging:
Like other lipsticks in Essence Longlasting range, Adorable Matt! comes in a black casing with a color coded band. The cap shuts firmly with a click and you can toss it in your bag any day. However, the black case gets fingerprint marks very soon. The bullet has the logo of Essence embossed, which gives it quite a classy touch. In fact, it looks like a high end lipstick bullet, even though it is an ordinary drugstore brand.

Color:
A gorgeous pinkish-red or reddish-pink depending on the light. In natural daylight, it is more of a bright pink hue, while in artificial light, the red undertone is more prominent. Nonetheless, the shade isn’t unique, but looks beautiful and will suit most Indian skin tones.

Texture:
The lipstick is creamy and glides effortlessly on the lips. There is no tugging or pulling. It doesn’t cling to dry patches, neither does it accentuate fine lines.

Pigmentation:
One swipe deposits enough color on the lips. Two swipes help to build the color to a brighter deeper shade, and there is no cakey feeling even on layering.

Feel:
The lipstick is semi-matte, and blotting it sets to a matte finish. It doesn’t dry out lips, neither hydrates them, and generally feels comfortable on lips.

Staying power:
Staying power is decent, with a wear time of around 4 hours. There is a bit of transfer to cutlery or glasses, but nothing very significant. I was surprised to see the lipstick on my lips, even after having a huge panipuri. Most lipsticks disappear by the time I take two morsels of food.

Overall:
I am really loving it. I prefer blotting it for regular wear, but the intense and vibrant shade is perfect for get-togethers and parties. Coupled with the other features at this price, Essence Adorable Matt! is definitely a winner for me.
