Hi ladies!
I am enjoying the Essence makeup range a lot these days; all the products are so reasonably priced and are quite good also. Today’s review is going to be on Essence Quattro Eyeshadow in the shade ‘14 Magenta and Me’. I love to try out colorful eyeshadows so I am continuously picking up various colors. This eyeshadow quad is another beautiful addition to my collection. Let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Essence 14 Magenta and Me Quattro Eyeshadow:
Packaging:
Starting with the packaging, this eyeshadow comes in a small, round, clear plastic container with a clear cap. The clear packaging makes identification of the product easy and is very lightweight too. But, the packaging doesn’t have any mirror or applicator. Otherwise, it is a nice, travel-friendly packaging. The placement of the shadows makes it more pretty.
Shade:
There are various shade options in this range; I have the shade 14 Magenta and Me with me today. As it’s a quad, each variant contains 4 shades. In this palette, the 1st shade is the most beautiful shade; it’s a matte magenta-violet shade which looks so vibrant on the eyes. Next is a dark blue shade with purple undertones. This one has some fine microshimmers in it.
This second shade works so beautifully on the outer corners and also on the crease. The 3rd one is a nice silvery white highlighter shade that works perfectly to highlight inner corners and brow bones. And the last one is a pretty silvery gray shade. On my medium skin tone, gray eyeshadows never really looks good, but this pretty gray surprisingly looks quite flattering. All the four shades are super pigmented and they look stunning on the eyes. The color-combination of this quad is really nice and I can create lovely eye makeup looks with it.
Texture and Quality:
It has a very smooth, soft texture which blends easily on the eyes without any efforts. The texture is super soft and creamy. It never feels or looks chalky. I really like how easily these shadows blend on the eyelids. In this palette, magenta is a perfect matte shade, blue is moderately matte with fine micro shimmers and other two shades are shiny-shimmery.
So, overall, the combination gives a perfect matte-shiny finish on the lids. The shadows never look overpowering or OTT, and always give an even finish. The blue and magenta shades fall out a little during application, but not too much and the dust can be easily removed with a brush. The eyeshadows in this quad don’t transfer and never settle into the fine lines. They never crease either.
Staying Power:
The eyeshadows have a decent staying power. They stay perfectly for around 5 hours without a primer. After 5 hours, they look faded on my oily lids. They start to move from the corners of my eyes also if I do not apply a primer. But, with a primer, these shadows stay for around 6-7 hours nicely. They never look messy at the end of the day. Also, it is quite easy to remove the colors with a good makeup remover wipe.
Overall:
I am so happy with the shades, pigmentation, quality, and also the staying power. The only issue is that a primer is required to enhance the longevity. This is a perfect palette for all seasons. I can create various looks with this small palette. The eyeshadows are so pretty and this quad is totally worth the price.
