Essence Berry Cupcake Glossy Lip Balm Review

Hello sweeties,

I have already raved about how many lip glosses I have from this range. I got 2 new ones called the “Strawberry Cheesecake” and “Berry Cupcake”. They keep these utterly cute names and then, I cannot expect myself to resist them. Hence I got them.

Plus, their packaging is something I have always admired – sparkly glittered packaging that is super girly and loaded with cuteness. So, let’s see how Essence Berry Cupcake Glossy Lip Balm worked out.

My Experience with Essence Berry Cupcake Glossy Lip Balm:

I got 2 new variants recently from essence to try out as the earlier ones worked great with me. But, as I got them online, I did not know how they would look. They looked pretty pigmented in the pictures and courtesy to the photographer that actually they were not as I expected. Have you ever noticed how good some stuff looks in the pictures and actually when we receive them, they look pretty different. Happens with me a lot!

Packaging: The packaging is extremely sweet and girly and the cutest in my stash. It has a cute sparkly pink shade which could be seen through the tube; plus, it has a cute picture of a berry cupcake over it. It is very cute and I felt like I have gone to my older days when we used to have those small plastic make-up boxes. It has a sparkly cap which makes it look even cuter. The slant tip and a nozzle make it very convenient to use and it is so tiny that it may fit anywhere.

Smell: The fragrance is pretty sweet and smells like a bubble-gum; nothing new about it, we have sniffed such smells before in some glosses. It tastes sweet but. very artificial if at all it goes into the mouth.

Texture: The texture of the gloss is medium thick and hence, I think the stickiness is a bit more as compared to the variant “Strawberry Cheesecake”.

One drop will cover the lips totally. Initially it looks very uneven, the berry colour on some parts and rest very sheer. But, soon after 5 minutes it settles down into a sparkly looking gloss. It provides a super rich glossy shine which makes the lips appear fuller and the shine stays on till the gloss is on, so that is the best part.

Shade: This gloss has a very light berry pink tint which does not show up a lot of the lips. The colour pay-off did not satisfy me. The claim was to give equal amount of glossiness with color; but, all I could see is glossy lips which were sheer with small shimmer. The gloss can be considered as an every-day lip gloss since it makes you look fresh and happy. The shimmers particles are very much visible in the tube and on the lips as well.

Staying Power: It lasted on me for like 1 and a half to 2 hours considering that you don’t have snacks or sip up water continuously. With snacks it vanishes as soon as you eat and the shimmers particles are sticky so they have to be washed or removed with a make-up remover after the gloss has vanished.

I think these would be great for college goers. Overall, it is a good one but the range has better ones to go for, I personally loved pink dragon-fruit and cherry kiss out of the all 7 I have. So, go ahead and try these cute baby glosses!

Pros of Essence Berry Cupcake Glossy Lip Balm:

• Super cute packaging and very tiny to carry.
• Easy application with a nozzle and slant tip.

• Gives a lovely glossy finish which lasts till the gloss is on.
• The gloss stays for like 2 hours but, only without meals or snacks.
• Tastes and smells sweet like a bubble gum.
• It is suitable for all kinds of looks because I think a glossy lip balm can always provide a finished look.
• Keeps lips hydrated.
• It is a very soft shade and great for everyday use.

Cons of Essence Berry Cupcake Glossy Lip Balm:

• Not too pigmented.
• Not good for pigmented lips.
• This range has better options to go for.
• The tint isn’t very visible.
• There is too much shimmer in it.
• It looks like a kid’s lip gloss; the ones which are extremely loaded with glitters.
• After it vanishes the shimmers are very sticky and lie there on the lips until you wash them.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Essence Berry Cupcake Glossy Lip Balm?

I surely suggest others from this range; but, not this one. This one is a pretty one, but it is more on the sheer side and I am totally bored of such sheer ones now. It looks like something that I would gift to a 10 year old girl and she will be super happy.

So, if you have small girl kids, these are perfect to make her happy, else just skip it. We always want a pop of colour, so I think this should be skipped!

Conclusion:

This one looks very kiddish when applied, but soon it settles down to a neat looking one. But, at the beginning I feel like I am a plastic doll. As of now, I have all 7 so no more getting these again. But, summing up all the 7 shades, I would say that if you want to pick these, go for Pink Dragon Fruit or Cherry Kiss, they are the best from this range.

Essence Glossy Lipbalm – Mango Icecream
