Essence Colour and Shine Eyeshadow Singles in Wear It! and Blue Moon Review

These eyeshadows are part of the collective haul in which I bought four eye shadows. The products from Essence are good, very affordable and widely available in India. All the products, which I have used till now from Essence are worth trying. These include gel eyeliner, liquid pen eyeliner, eye shadows and blushes. Here I am going to review Wear It! and Blue Moon eyeshadows.

My Experience with Essence Colour and Shine Eyeshadow Singles in Wear It! and Blue Moon:

Packaging:

It is a transparent circular dome shaped case. Its lid is quite secure. Plastic is neither very flimsy nor very sturdy. The transparent casing helps to check the color of the eye shadow easily. There is no mirror or applicator provided. On the lid “Essence Color and Shine” is printed. At the back, the shade name, manufacturing details, weight etc. other details are mentioned.

The major drawback of the packaging is that the product separates from its base if you travel with it. I have seen this problem in many baked products more in drugstore brands, less in high-end brands. The amount of product provided by weight it is 1.5gm, quite sufficient for its price.

Texture:
The products are shimmery. You will be able to see glitter specks on your face when applied dry. If you wet the product, it becomes as good as any high-end eye shadow with a metallic finish and no fallout whatsoever. The product, I admit, is bit powdery. This is, however, a characteristic of drugstore baked products I have observed. When taking a swipe you have to apply certain amount of pressure to get enough product. The product is quite hard. It is blendable and can be easily build up by using it wet.

Pigmentation:
I will describe the pigmentation of both the shades separately:

Wear It! : Wear It! is a very pretty purple shade. Can be worn on its own with a light brown shade as crease color. The product had a silver colored marbling on purple before I took a swatch and mixed everything. It transferred on the finger and then on wrist perfectly.

Blue Moon : This is a sky blue color with silver marbling too. This is also a party wear color. This along with a matte navy blue shade can give a very glamorous smoky eyes look.

Both these shade have staining power. You can see in the blended swatches there is a patch where I applied eye shadow first.

Staying Power:
It stays for about 4-5 hours without primer. I have oily lids. I have used them with primers too. It stayed well for upto 5-6 hours without fading. When it started fading it did that evenly. Definitely use them wet! No use putting baked eyeshadows dry on your eyelids.

Would I Recommend Essence Colour and Shine Eyeshadow Singles in Wear It! and Blue Moon?
Yes, I will definitely recommend these because! It is very hard to find good eyeshadows that are not heavy on our pockets. Apart from getting separated from its base, the product has no other problem. It becomes messy for travelling, if this happens. So, just be little careful and enjoy these pretty colors.
