Today’s review is about Essence colour boost vinylicious liquid lipstick in the shade “05 Lolilolipop”. Essence has a new range of liquid lipsticks which looked quite interesting and I wanted to give it a try. They are available in 10 colors. I shopped 7 of them and 3 of them were sold out for a long time. I will try and review them also for you.

My Experience with Essence Color Boost Vinylicious Liquid Lipstick 05 Lolilolipop:
Let’s start with the packaging. The color boost lipsticks come in a plastic tube. The colour of the tube is the same as the lipstick inside. This makes picking the right colour so easy and one does not need to read the name or number to find out which one to pick. This is especially a plus point if you own more than one of this. All tubes have a black screw cap. They are very secure and also easy to open and close. Perfect to travel with.
I initially thought that the tube will have a small opening to apply the product, but instead, it came with an application wand like that of lip gloss. This was a pleasant surprise. The wand is quite strong and gives that support to apply the lipstick all over especially the edges without any mistakes. The felt applicator at the tip is hourglass shaped and works well with application.
The liquid lipstick itself smells a little like paint. The stink is one thing that I hated. But surprisingly, the stink was varying in levels for different colours. But one can notice the smell. Thankfully, the smell does not last long. It disappears after a few minutes.
One more thing I liked about this liquid lipstick is the fact that they have no shimmer or glitter. They look glossy but not due to the shimmer or glitter. They do not feel sticky or slippers on lips. They also feel comfortable on the lips.
They do transfer when eating and even more when drinking. The liquid lipstick is very easily transferable which is kind of expected. I would carry it along when I use it, so that I can reapply as per need. Reapplication is definitely needed. With this lipstick it is better not to over board and apply as it might land on the teeth. So, it is better to use the finger trick to avoid transferring on to the teeth.
With lighter color shades, the application can turn out to be streaky. One has to go over the lips with the wand for non-streaky application. The colour is also well pigmented and the payoff is good. The shinny glossy latex finish lasts for 2 hours or so after which it slightly fades. I guess it’s normal and acceptable too (atleast for me).
The shade “05 Lolilolipop” is coral pink in colour with blue undertones. I absolutely loved the colour when swatched. The shade also looked extremely beautiful in the packaging but I am dusky skin toned and this did not look good on me. It did not look washed out but the colour did not suit me. This colour would suit light skinned toned people. This is one unique colour and would be a good buy if this shade suits you!
Overall, it’s a highly pigmented lip gloss. It is not really a liquid lipstick. But for that price I do not think it is fair to complain. I personally would not prefer wearing such latex effect lipstick to office, but would prefer so much for the evening or night parties. They are also perfect for the colourful Indian marriages or festivals.

This colour does not suit me and hence will not repurchase this lipstick.

This is a lovely shade which suits lighter skin tones. I think this is a good buy especially for the colour.
