Essence Colour Party Liquid Lipstick Review

After being super impressed with 3 liquid lipsticks from Essence – “Beauty Secret,” “Make A Statement,” and “Show Off,” I got the remaining two shades in this range as well. So today, I want to share my views about a fairly new launch by Essence called the Essence Liquid Lipstick in “Color Party.” Let’s have a look.

My Experience with Essence Colour Party Liquid Lipstick:

Packaging: This liquid lipstick comes housed in a chubby little square tube similar to Maybelline Color Elixirs! The tube contains 0.13 oz of lipstick. The applicator is made from sponge, with both of the faces flat, which I like more than regular doe-foot applicators, because this one gives me more control and ease of application. I simply love the color-coded packaging and how the lid matches the shade. This makes for easy grabbing of one particular shade when one has a zillion lip products!! All in all, the packaging is adorable in my opinion.

Color: The shade “Color Party” is a beautiful cool blue-toned bright pink shade. It sure is a gorgeous wearable pink that can be beautifully paired with smoky eye. This shade is most suitable for fair to medium skin tones, but it will totally wash out beauties with richer complexions.

Pigmentation: When I swatch this shade on the back of my hand, it looks almost like a lacquer with the sheer shine and opacity which looks stunning. However on the lips, this sheers beautifully with medium coverage. Overall, I would say the pigmentation is a hybrid of a lipstick and a lip gloss!

Texture: This baby is nothing like the liquid lipsticks that are in the market. Essence has a new take on liquid lipstick which has a very thick formula that is a super pigmented lipstick-gloss, if you know what I mean! Usually, liquid lipsticks tend to have a velvety matte formula, but Essence goes with more of a thicker, stickier, tacky gloss formula. Frankly speaking, I love this formulation! Since this has the coverage of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss, this baby is right up my alley. I love a glossy finish!

Longevity: Thanks to the tacky formula, it delivers a good colour pay-off for a solid 4 hours, post which the shine does fade away some. The best thing is that the color doesn’t migrate around and the formula remains pleasantly moist through the wear which is quite hydrating for a liquid lipstick.

Cons of Essence Colour Party Liquid Lipstick:

• Not a liquid lipstick, per say!
• If you do not like tacky lip products, then it’s a con.

Would I Recommend Essence Colour Party Liquid Lipstick?
Essence liquid lipstick isn’t the most perfect liquid lipstick formula, but I really like it a lot as it provides great pigmentation with shine and the semi-tacky formulation increases longevity and all this at a very affordable price tag! What else can you ask for? Go grab it ladies, you’ll not regret!
