I had recently picked up few lip liners and matching lipsticks from Essence. Today’s review is all about Essence Draw The Line Instant Colour Lip Liner in the shade “10 Pink Candy”. Read on to know more.

My Experience with Essence Draw The Line Instant Colour Lip Liner 10 Pink Candy:

The product comes in a self-sharpening twist-up pencil like plastic case. The product comes unsealed and you need to make sure that it is not swatched. Since it is a low budget product, there are no testers kept and people do often pick the ones on sale for testing. The black cap closes with a click and there is no chance that it would open. The sleek pencil makes it travel-friendly. The packaging is quite good.

The lip pencil is creamy and is very soft. While you do not have to worry about sharpening, I have noticed that once it gets blunt, it can draw thick lines at the corners of the mouth. Due to its soft texture, it is prone to breakage even if a little pressure is applied. This is so disappointing. I have ended up breaking the lip pencils more than using them!

“Pink Candy”is a beautiful bright fuchsia pink shade. The shade is pretty bright but it can suit any skin tone and it definitely brightens up the day and face. I absolutely love these shades in autumn or winter when everything around you would look so dull and you are the one who brighten up the surrounding. It is amazingly pigmented and one swipe would give you the needed finish. The lip liner gives you a matte finish. The product doesn’t have any moisturizing property and it must be applied to well moisturized and exfoliated lips. The lip liner once applied feels a little chalky. Since it is matte and like any matte products the product cringes onto the dry lines on the lips. This can be a little annoying as it highlights the dryness on the lips.

The lip liner stays on for a good 5-6 hours on the lips and post which it starts fading. The fading is uneven and it fades in the center first. However you can fix it with a little lip balm. The product is transfer-proof and does not bleed. The product is also waterproof and doesn’t wash away and you need to use a good cleanser to get it off. The payoff is amazing. It doesn’t leave any stain but it you do not remove it correctly you can notice that the color remains on the lips. Overall, I am very impressed with the quality of this affordable drugstore brand!
