Off lately, I have been sticking to basic makeup for office and during those busy days I just use mascara to open my eyes, instead of eye liner and a shadow. So, I was looking out for mascara that gives immense volume effect. While there are must haves from L’Oréal, I was not willing to shell out a bomb for a mascara, which I throw out after 3 months! I always look for budget mascaras and recently came across this product and today’s review is about Essence False Lashes Extreme Volume and Curl Mascara. Read on to know more

Ingredients:
Aqua (water), paraffin, glyceryl stearate, synthetic beeswax, stearic acid, acacia senegal gum , butylene glycol, palmitic acid, polybutene, oryza sativa (rice) bran wax, vp/eicosene copolymer, ozokerite, aminomethyl propanol, tropolone, hydrogenated vegetable oil, stearyl stearate, hydroxyethylcellulose, phenoxyethanol, ci 77499 (iron oxides).
My Experience with Essence False Lashes Extreme Volume and Curl Mascara:
This product was launched some time ago and I have seen it on shelves for almost more than a month. I have never used any essence mascara till now and I was little skeptical with this product and wanted to check other options. But the fact that it claimed that it provides false lash effect, I wanted to try it out. There are 2 products in the range of False Lashes Effect and I picked up the one for extreme volume and curl mascara.
The mascara comes in a white and a black cap combination. The packaging is nothing great but just simple like the normal mascara. It has pink and black highlights, which makes it look a little bit girly. It is a little bulky but doesn’t bother me much. The screw cap has the wand in it. The cap is tight and no issues with spillage. One of the reasons I went for this is, because I liked the wand brush shape. I have used one such wand few years ago, and it provided very good curl effect and I was sure even with this, I would get the curl lash effects. Coming to the mascara, it does provide false lash effect but when I open the wand to apply, there is so much product on the brush. I have to rub it to the sides, before I use it on my lashes and if not, it leaves clumps of residue on my eyes. When I first used the mascara, without rubbing it, it left so much clump on my eyes that it looked so ridiculous.
Even with so much of rubbing, the mascara tends to join the lashes with its product, creating a clumping look! I always have a clean wand handy, so that I can fix it if there is a lot of residue. This causes me double work. I am not sure if the brand is calling this ridiculous clumping as false lash! Other than this issue, I love the product! It adds a lot of volume to my eyelashes and also increase the length of my lashes. It does add some fiber to my lash, which makes it look full. But like I told, you need a clean wand to correct it, for a nice effect and to get rid of the residue. The mascara also adds beautiful curl to my eyelashes and I like this 2 in 1 duty of the mascara.
The mascara is waterproof and hold the extreme curl and volume for around 5 hours and post which it starts to flake off. I have noticed tiny flakes near my eyes due to this. But other than these issues, if you want to just go for false lash effect, it is good buy but to achieve the perfect look it needs a bit of work. But it creates a false lash look and it is a good buy. So summing up:

• Leaves residue on lashes and has to be cleaned up.
• If applied more, creates a very artificial looking lashes.
• Flakes off after 5 hours.
• Need a clean wand handy to fix the clumpy look.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Essence False Lashes Extreme Volume and Curl Mascara again?
My opinion on the product is 50-50. While I love the dramatic lash effect and the volume it provides, the work I need to put to make sure it doesn’t clump upsets me.
