Essence Forget It 3-in-1 Concealer Review

Essence Forget It 3-in-1 Concealer Review

Hi Girls!

Hope the Wednesday morning is coming along great for all of you 🙂 I am going to review another concealer today that I suddenly found yesterday at the back of my makeup box. It’s the Essence Forget-it 3-in-1 Concealer.  Let’s see how it fared for me:

Essence Forget It 3-in-1 Concealer Review

Price:

It was about 3 or 4 Euros for 3.5 gm.

Product Description:

A colour palette which is perfect for concealing skin blemishes, counteracting redness and lightening dark circles. Use pink for dark circles, green for redness and beige for blemishes.

Essence Concealer 2

Packaging:

It comes in a nice, small, compact-like casing and the shades are placed like a pie-chart inside. Its quite lightweight and easy to throw in the bag and I like the pie-shaped casing. The lid doesn’t open easily and shades don’t run into each other.

Shades:

As you can see, there are 3 shades in this box:

Essence Concealer 4

Pink: To cover up dark circles under eyes.
Green: This is more like a sea green-cum-sky blue shade meant for covering up redness around the nose and mouth
Beige/Brown:  This is a medium flesh-toned beige meant for covering blemishes and other imperfections on the skin.

My Experience with Essence Forget It 3-in-1 Concealer:

Well, I picked up quite a lot of Essence products on my last trip as I had heard so much about them. So, I bought this one too as a part of that haul. I find the colors of this concealer way off the mark. The pink one when applied under the eyes makes me look like those Hindi horror movie “chudails” – like I have applied white eyeshadow under my eyes. When I applied the green/blue one, it looked as if I have applied blue goop on the sides of my nose. The only shade that seemed to work for me was the beige one. It matches my skin tone very well and covers up the blemishes nicely.

Another complaint I have about the product is the texture, its very creamy and blends nicely when applied, but they are super oily too. After a few minutes, even when I set it with powder, it starts sliding off and feels heavy and cakey on the skin. So, it’s a big no-no for oily-skinned people like me.

Because of the oily texture, the staying power is pathetic, about 2-3 hours on my skin in summers. It’s slightly better in winters.

Pros of Essence Forget It 3-in-1 Concealer:

  • 3 concealer shades in 1 palette.
  • Cheap and easy on the pocket.
  • Very creamy and blends easily when applied, especially the beige one.

Cons of Essence Forget It 3-in-1 Concealer:

  • Pretty sad color selection, I can’t imagine who would be able to use the sea green-colored shade or the pink one as it appears like white eyeshadow under the eyes. Maybe if you are Snow White or Edward Cullen, you can give it a try ;P
  • Starts feeling very heavy and oily on the skin.
  • Creases easily.
  • Staying power is really bad.
  • Not very pigmented, you have to apply a lot of the product to cover up blemishes or dark circles.
  • Non-availability in India.

IMBB Rating:

1.5/5

Overall Verdict:

I am not going to repurchase it of course! I am trying to figure out ways to use up the one I have, suggestions are welcome!  I won’t recommend this concealer palette to anyone, especially oily-skinned people, stay away!

  1. was sold on the concept too. i like the color correcting technique. reminds me of the NYX orange one. ya this one is a total bummer though.

    1. is the NYX one good Aru? Still on the lookout for a good inexpensive concealer…dont want to splurge on Mac just yet 🙁

  2. I have this product and I bought it solely for the green corrector …Sounds weird but I have fair skin almost NC15..However I have the very mixed opinions about it as well , the pink shade works quite well for me , the green one almost well ,I blend the beige one with a yellow base concealer so it can match my skin tone …rating 3/5 for the price and idea mostly ..
