Recently, Essence has launched some new eyeliners, eyeshadows, nail colours and brushes. Today, I’m reviewing Essence Glitter in the Air – 2in1 Metallic and Mat Eyeliner in the shade “02 Be The Twinkle In My Eye”. So, let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Essence Glitter in the Air – 02 Be the Twinkle in My Eye 2in1 Metallic and Matt Eyeliner:
Essence Cosmetics has launched a 2in1 eyeliner pencil, which is basically a dual-ended sharpenable pencil with a matte pencil at one end and a glittery pencil on the other. Both the ends can be used as an eyeliner as well as a kohl pencil. It comes with a black cap. Essence has launched two shades in this eyeliner. The shade, “01 Be the Jewel On My Crown” is a combination of glittery rose gold shade and a matte dark plum shade. The shade, “02 Be the Twinkle in my Eye” is a combination of shimmery silver colour and a matte dark green colour.
When I first picked this eyeliner, there was no tester, so I thought it was a combination of shimmery silver and a matte black colour. But, when I swatched it again, I realised that it is a matte dark green colour. The matte side is a dark moss green colour while the metallic side is a party appropriate, silver-greyish shimmer colour. The eyeliner is totally on the fun side.
The pencil is very creamy, but it doesn’t break easily. The pigmentation of this eyeliner is great that a single stroke gives a huge colour payoff. The pencil glides effortlessly without any tugging or pulling. Usually, I apply the shimmery shade on my upper lash line and the matte shade on my waterline and it gives a fun, festive look to my eyes. Even without an eyeshadow, the eyeliner adds a zing to my eyes, which I love.
Coming to the staying power, the pencil stays in my eyes for more than 5 hours. The shimmery eyeliner stays intact, but the matte shade starts smudging like hell in 3 hours, resulting in a panda eye look. It looks awful and nasty, but thank God, I used this eyeliner when I was at home so, I nearly escaped this messy embarrassment outside. The eyeliner is not waterproof but, removing it from the eyes is a bit difficult. I have to scrub the makeup removing wipe, again and again, to remove it completely, which is a big disappointment for me. Overall, it is an average dual-ended eyeliner.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Essence Glitter in the Air – 02 Be the Twinkle in My Eye 2in1 Metallic and Matt Eyeliner?
No. Although it offers good pigmentation, I won’t recommend it as it smudges like crazy.
