Hello everyone,
The best thing I have found so far about shopping in other countries is that you get more value for your money in some places and you also get a variety of products that are definitely not there in your own country. The same goes for this pretty contour set. I have not seen our popular brands sell bronzers and contour kits here unless you buy them online, of course. In India, we usually shy away from putting on anything darker than our normal skin tone on our faces or body. I have seen myself balking at the idea of fake tanning at one point because, let’s be honest, we avoid the sun most of the time. This contour set was something different and that’s why it caught my eye. Let’s see how it performed.

My Experience with Essence Happy Girls are Pretty Contouring Set 01 Happiness is… a Way of Life:

The contour set comes in a clear sturdy plastic case. It closes with a click and a very strong one so you won’t have it opening around in your purse. There was only one shade in the store I went to, which was ’01- Happiness is… a way of life’. The powder is smooth as with all Essence powders but it’s perfect for me because for some funny reason my face is darker than my body. So, in my opinion, I feel that this little beauty was made for me to find. 😀 The highlighter in this set is a subtle sheen when applied. So it doesn’t pack a punch like the merry berry highlighter. It is perfect for everyday use, if you will.

Color:
The contour powder is a perfect cool toned brown which replicates the shadow created in the hollows of your cheeks. So it is basically meant to create a shadow to contour and not to bronze. The highlight powder in this set is beautiful, subtle peachy gold with just the right sheen to give you a natural looking glow. This is a natural looking color. If you are expecting an ‘in your face’ highlighter then this one is not for you.

Texture:
The powders are smooth, but they are not too strongly pigmented. You have to work a bit to blend them out. The lasting power is not too great as it won’t last you a whole nine hour working day but if you are out for a function or an outing then it might hold up. It seemed to fade after about four hours of wear. All in all, it is alright, not really the best out there, but it is good for its price.
