Essence Kajal Pencil in Teddy Review

Essence Kajal Pencil in Teddy

A year ago, I had no clue of makeup whatsoever. Then 6 months ago, I started looking for some makeup and skincare tips on the net and landed up on IMBB, and then what?? There was no looking back 😛 I was like, “Aah!! Where had you been all this time?” 😛 Anyways, I am still a beginner in the world of makeup but now atleast my knowledge base has expanded substantially, all thanks to IMBB! 😛

Today I am going to review essence kajal pencil in the shade Teddy (such a cute name!! 😛 ) Actually, I am fond of eye makeup, neutral eye makeup, to be precise. I wanted a smudgeable brown pencil which could be used with brown eyeshadow. I was thinking of getting a Chambor one, but before I could locate the Chambor counter, I was already swatching all possible shades of brown at all possible counters and picked this one up to begin with.

Price: I got it at an unbelievable price of Rs.99/-

Quantity : 1 gm

Packaging: It is a simple sharpenable pencil with a metallic silver colored plastic cap. The body of the pencil is the same color as the kajal. It makes locating the pencil in your kitty easier.

My experience with Essence Kajal Pencil in Teddy:

It is a kajal pencil but I use it more as a liner. This one is a brown shade with prominent copper shimmer. The texture is super soft, does not tug at all. This feature is the only highlight at this price. It tends to get crumbly though. The pigmentation, when you swatch it on your hand, shows a good color but the color does not show up even after multiple swipes. The staying power is also nothing great. It hardly lasts for an hour or two, after that, it just vanishes. It does not fade, it does not smudge, it just vanishes completely. Infact, it comes off as and when you touch your eyes. It behaves better if you have prepped your eyes with a primer or foundation. I avoid using it on waterline and lower lashline since the eyelashes tend to get sticky and clumpy because of the texture.

I had basically bought it not with the intention of wearing it alone but as a part of my neutral eye make up. I tried smudging it with fingers but it came off completely. I tried using a smudger but still could not get the precision I wanted. Overall, I am not so happy with the product. Anyhow, it is good for beginners who would like to experiment with eye makeup.

Do I recommend Essence Kajal Pencil in Teddy?

No, not at all. I would rather suggest to invest in a few hundred bucks more and get yourself better quality than essence.
