Essence Kiss Care Love Lip Balm – Caribbean Sunrise Review

Essence Kiss Care Love Lip Balm – Caribbean Sunrise Review

After my recent posting, I temporarily stopped wearing lipsticks due to lots of male officers in the premises, to keep a very sober portrayal, but that won’t stop me from buying lipsticks. But for now, I was in sudden need of lots of lip balms. So, I did a little haul for different lip balms from Essence, Maybelline, Neutrogena, Palmer’s and here I am sharing one from Essence.

My Views on Essence Kiss Care Love Lip Balm – Caribbean Sunrise:

Packaging:

Essence Kiss Care Love Lip Balm 2

The packaging is neat, tiny and entirely cute. The bullets of all lip balms in this range match the color of the in-house product, with a transparent cap. For Caribbean Sunrise, the bullet is orange and the lip balm stick is pretty peach with slight silvery sheen. The cap closes very fine to keep it safe, but the print on the cap has started fading away within one week of use.

Texture, Pigmentation and Finish:

Texture is soft and moisturizing, very easy to apply without and tug or drag. It has a sweet fruity smell which is very refreshing, but doesn’t linger for long after application. It imparts a very slight peachy tinge/nude effect to lips which is barely visible (doesn’t wash out). This is understood as the product description also mentions that it provides a natural look. I have pigmented lips but those with no pigmentation may experience a pretty peachy shade. It is not at all heavy or sticky on lips, but I feel it a bit waxy, very lightweight, but creamy, and comfortable to wear. The frosty look in bullet doesn’t transfers to lips. It gives a slight glossy sheen; without any shimmer.

Staying Power and Re-application:

The staying power as I observed is 2 hours with drinking. Without drinking, it may go far long. I don’t mind it because reapplication is no issue with lip balms. Most of us don’t even need a mirror for that….am I right ladies?

It doesn’t contain any SPF and I am not worried about it because for me, sun protection for my lips is not prior to their hydration.

Pros of Essence Kiss Care Love Lip Balm – Caribbean Sunrise:

  • Moisturizing formula.
  • Makes lips soft and hydrated.
  • Appropriate for those who prefer slightly tinted-transparent lip balms.
  • Very nice fragrance.
  • Lightweight on lips, no sticky feeling.
  • Easy application.
  • Fairly priced.
  • Not tested on animals.

Cons of Essence Kiss Care Love Lip Balm – Caribbean Sunrise:

  • Contains parabens.
  • Slightly waxy feeling.

Comparison with Maybelline Baby Lips:

  • Essence is a bit more moisturizing than Maybelline Baby Lips.
  • Essence is creamier than Maybelline Baby Lips.
  • Essence imparts a heavier feel on lips as compared to Maybelline Baby Lips light feel.
  • Maybelline Baby Lips is slick; essence is waxy.
  • Essence carries half price tag than Maybelline Baby Lips.
  • Maybelline Baby Lips gives a glamorous look than Essence.
  • Essence is quite less pigmented than Maybelline Baby Lips.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5 (half mark deducted for parabens).

Pigmentation and re-application are no trouble for me because they have a separate range of tinted lip balms and I have no hesitation in reapplying them.

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Essence Kiss Care Love Lip Balm – Caribbean Sunrise?

There are four variants available in Kiss Care Love lip balms of Essence, of which I already have got two and shall buy two later some time in the coming year. I highly recommend these 🙂
