Hello all,

Essence has made me a lipliner convert. Lipliners are such multitaskers I have to say!
About Essence Lipliner:
The cool lipliner colors ensure clear contours and beautiful, shapely lips. A practical effect: the lipliner is smudge-proof and especially long-lasting.

My take on Essence Lipliner Shade 12 Wish Me a Rose :
This lipliner comes in a standard wooden pencil form. I was actually surprised at the quality of this; the texture of the lipliner is really smooth. One doesn’t have to use it with much pressure as it so creamy and there is absolutely no trouble while blending. I have used a lip butter underneath as I think it will not be very forgiving on dry lips. I would suggest prepping your lips before using the lipliner as it might cling to the dry patches. But the lipliner doesn’t add on to the dryness, which is a plus.
Wish me a rose is an absolutely beautiful dusty rose pink color. The color washes me out a little bit when I wear it alone, so I usually top it off with Maybelline Glam 13 lip polish. And I have to say, it looks stunning. Whenever I wear this combo, someone or the other asks me about the color.
Also, I believe it is a close match for Revlon Colorburst matte balm Elusive. The moment I applied this lipliner, I knew I already had this shade. But in terms of texture, I would say this is far better than the matte balm. Yes, it’s true. The Revlon one is comparatively sheerer and starts getting streaky when I try to layer it on, giving me an uneven finish. But this lipliner is so insanely pigmented, and absolutely no streaking. And look at the price difference!! If you want to buy the matte balm, but not doing so because of the price point, I highly recommend this shade. Trust me.
The pigmentation is great, which is really important for me as I have slightly pigmented lips. Also, I use it as a full lip color and not just a lipliner and I must say that the color payoff is unbelievable. The color is buildable without any streakiness. The color lasts really long on the lips, almost 4-5 hours with a little eating and few drinks, which is quite impressive considering the price. It leaves a light pink stain on the lips after that, which looks pretty too, you know like those healthy pink lips.
So overall, I am really impressed. I think this is a quality budget buy and you must try one of the shades.
