My Experience with Essence Liquid Ink Eyeliner Waterproof – Black:
The packaging of this eyeliner is super cute. The eyeliner tube is tiny and it bears cool turquoise blue detailing on it. The cap of the eyeliner is also blue in colour. This vibrant blue adds a little funkiness to the packaging. The cap is a regular screw on type that fits securely, making the eyeliner tube spillproof and travel-friendly. There is a thin eyeliner brush attached to the cap. The bristles are soft and gentle on the skin. I can easily draw both thin and thick lines with the help of this applicator. Overall, the packaging of the eyeliner is attractive and travel-friendly.
The colour of the eyeliner is deep black. The finish is perfect matte. It is totally devoid of sheen or shimmers. The eyeliner dries quickly and sets to a perfect matte finish within seconds. The formula is super pigmented. Therefore, one swipe delivers a rich black colour to the eyes. The colour is so intense and looks the same even after hours of application without any fading.
The texture of the eyeliner is thin and smooth. It glides so smoothly on the eyelids. The eyeliner has some alcoholic smell, which is a little bothering but, it fades away quickly as soon as the eyeliner dries. I have noticed this kind of smell in all the eyeliners from this brand. This smell is quite annoying but I am glad that it does not linger for long. This one is a waterproof variant and I had some higher expectations with this variant. And, I am happy to say that this product has lived up to my expectations. The eyeliner is definitely waterproof and smudge proof. It never comes off with a splash of water. It also does not smudge even if I go out in rain. It does not peel off or crumble like other eyeliner.
The lasting power of the eyeliner is somewhere around 6-7 hours that is pretty impressive for a drugstore eyeliner. The colour looks as fresh and intense throughout the day. The only con that I could find is a little smudging from the inner corner of the eyes. Overall, this has become my current favourite eyeliner.
