My Experience with Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil – Hot Chocolate

The name of this pencil is so tempting and describes the shade really well. The eye pencil comes in a twist up packaging, which I prefer more over the sharpening ones. The cap is tight and pencil is small and travel friendly. The texture is very smooth and glides on like butter with absolutely no tugging at all. It is extremely pigmented and has a good color pay off in a single swipe and the finish is matte, no shimmers at all and therefore a good option for working ladies. I have used many brown eyeliners, but was always on search of that perfect matte brown which is neither too dark nor light. Many of the times there is not much different between a black and a dark brown eyeliner. But this is the perfect brown for all skin tones and my search finally ends here, thanks to the SA who swatched it on my arm, or else I would had never tried it.

I always prefer smooth eye pencils, as I can smudge it out a bit. When applied it sets within a minute and becomes smudge proof. In the swatch itself, I have smudged it on the right side. It is long lasting and lasts for around 6 hours on my waterline after that it starts fading, and on eyelid it lasts for 8- 9 hours. Even after that when it fades, there is no flaking at all, it smudges a bit. Out of all the colored eyeliners I have tried this has the best formulation, it is smooth and long lasting. Even after splashing water on my face and eyes it stays on, it is completely water resistant. To make it last longer on my waterline, I is set it with any brown eye shadow and it lasts much longer. There are six colorful shades with the same formulation; I am going to try other shades as well. I have sensitive eyes and it has never made my eyes watery unlike other I pencils.

• I wish it lasted little more on my waterline.
(But that can be solved by setting with an eye shadow)

Recommendation– I definitely recommend it to everyone, and I will try some other shades as well.
