Today I’ll be reviewing Essence’s Long Lasting eye pencil in the shade Coolest Chic! Lets get to the review quickly!

My take on Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Coolest Chic:
Packaging: The outer body is made out of plastic and is the same colour as the product inside. The name of the shade and everything is printed in silver. The cap fits properly, not too tight, not too loose. The body can be rotated to reveal the product. I like how sleek yet good this pencil looks. And since it is retractable, no product is wasted in sharpening it!
Shade: The colour of this eye pencil is dark purple. It has silver shimmers in it which is hardly noticeable. I love anything purple, so that was the reason I picked this up. This shade comes from the ‘Long Lasting’ range of Essence products. I have swatched some other eye pencils from this shade and they did not budge an inch after being smudged! But this one smudges easily.
Texture: The eye pencil glides on easily without tugging or pulling. It’s a bit creamy so you really have to be careful about not applying too much pressure on the tip. It breaks so easily and is a little crumbly. Best suited for the winters 😛
Pigmentation: It has buildable pigmentation. The first swipe doesn’t fully deposit the required intensity. After two-three swipes, the beautiful purple colour shows up! When smudged, you can see the silver shimmers clearly.
Staying Power: I was disappointed with the staying power as it lasts hardly for three hours. Mostly because it smudges so easily! It was supposed to be ‘long lasting’. But there’s a con here!

Final Verdict: It’s a beautiful purple colour and almost a must have in your make up collection! I’m going to try smudging it like Rati said in one of the comments to create a smokey kind of look. But I won’t repurchase it, instead I’ll try other purples from other brands!
