I had picked up ‘Metallic Lipsticks’ from Essence. Today’s review is all about ‘Essence Metallic Lipstick Kisses from Asia’. Read on to know more.

My Experience with Essence Metallic Lipstick 02 Kisses from Asia:
The lipstick comes in a pink outer plastic case which has golden highlights and a golden metallic body. The package is beautiful and very artistic. The cap of the lipstick closes with a click and this makes sure that it is completely travel-friendly. The product comes unsealed similar to the other lipsticks from Essence, but considering the price that I pay, I don’t have any issue. At the bottom, you can see the name of the shade. There is hardly any information on the packaging other than minor details if you need more information you need to look up to the website.
“Kisses from Asia” is a beautiful pink rose shade. I absolutely love the color. To make it metallic, there are some golden shimmers present in the lipstick. The lipstick has a berry-like fruity flavor and is very sweet. The smell, however, fades away quickly. The shade suits the Indian tones well. However, I personally feel it would really brighten up light or dark skin tones.
The lipstick is creamy and glides well on the lips. The bullet is sturdy but I have noticed that it has a tendency to melt a little in higher temperatures. I had taken it to Rome, and considering the high temperature, I noticed that it was more creamy than usual and had to be applied through a brush. I had taken a lip palette and I am not sure if other lipsticks melted at this temperature.
Even though the application is very easy if you have dry lips the chances to have an uneven application is very high. You need to exfoliate well and moisturize your lips before application. If not, you can notice that the application is patchy and you can see that in my lip swatch. The product also settles into the dry creases of the lips. The presence of shimmer is the biggest drawback in this lipstick. It kind of gets everywhere and creates a mess. It is also very difficult to remove, and considering that it can be swallowed, Essence has to inform if it is safe.
The product does bleed if you do not use a lip liner so using a lip liner is mandatory if you do not want shimmers on your chin. The pigmentation of the product is pretty good and it covers the dark lips easily. The product feels light on the lips too. The lipstick stays for a maximum of 2 hours and you can extend it a little using the blotting technique to a maximum of 4 hours. The longevity of the lipstick is very bad! Overall, I would suggest you could clearly skip this range of lipsticks. They are below average and not worth spending money.
