My Experience with Essence Mono Eye shadow 11 Wild at Heart:
I love the convenience of eye shadow palettes but most of the times, there are certain shades in a palette the color and texture of which I do not like much as compared to others and hence I mainly prefer single eye shadows for this preference.
The eye shadow comes in a transparent packaging which I find quite convenient to locate the shade. The transparent case is travel friendly but does not look the best. And all the eye shadows have a distinctive design on top of it.
The color is a beautiful and wearable vibrant navy blue, one of the prettiest blue eye shadows I have seen and I was really attracted to this one, as the name suggests it is metallic finish and has very minute shimmers which just impart sheen. It is a true medium blue, which can be used in many ways. The color can be used with different shades, with a black eye shadow to create a Smokey looks and also as an eyeliner. When layered on a black eye shadow or kohl it comes out as a really dark blue. And when used wet can be used as a liner or over black eyeliner also, it looks almost like a true navy blue liner when used that way. When it comes to colorful eye shadows I mostly prefer purples and blues and they look great on dark brown eyes. Blue eye shadow also makes the whites of eyes appear more white and bright.
The texture is smooth and the shimmer is super fine, it is not at all chalky or hard. But there isvery little fallout in the pan when picked up with a brush especially. And for pigmentation as well it is not one of their best, the pigmentation of this shade is okay and it does not adhere well without a good base. Without a primer it comes out more as a sheer blue and not very opaque as seen in the swatches. When paired with a good eyeshade base or primer it comes out well in its full intensity and true to the color as in the pan. I tried using it with a damp brush and that ways the color payoff comes out even better. It gets blended very easily without looking patchy even after layering.
This particular shade cannot be worn without a primer due to poor pigmentation and along with a good base it stays well for 6-7 hours on my oily eyelids, if you have normal eyelids it should last longer. In the swatches I have swiped it twice each, alone on the left side and over NYX HD eye shadow base on right.
Pros of Essence Mono Eye shadow 11 Wild at Heart:
• Pretty blue color
• Smooth texture
• Decent staying power
• Very little fallout
• Blendsout easily
• Reasonably priced and easily available
Cons of Essence Mono Eye shadow11 Wild at Heart:
• Not the best packaging
• Poor pigmentation
• A primer cannot be skipped
