Essence Mono Eye shadow 19 Disco Diva Review

Essence Mono Eye shadow 19 Disco Diva

Today I am reviewing the last eyeshadow I had picked up from Essence. I was looking for a good purple eye shadow, as I was not satisfied with the Bourjois one it was too light and chalky. Let’s see how this one fared.

Price: Rs 149 for 2.5 grams.

Product description: Mono Eye shadows with a high pigmentation guarantee a colorful start to the season. Whether shimmering, matte, metallic, or even holographic, the essence shades create unique effects on your eyes and give your final look an extra special touch.

My experience with Essence Mono Eye shadow 19 Disco Diva:

After seeing this beautiful purple color, I could not resist myself from buying it. These eye shadows come in different finishes ranging from matte, shimmer, metallic and sparkling; this particular shade belongs to the metallic effect. The color is a bright vibrant purple. If you like bright colors, then this one is for you. It is just right not too light not too dark. The best thing it is not at that shimmery and looks more like a satin finish with very little shimmer.

It is very smooth and not much powdery, has very little fallout even when swiped with a brush. I have three essence eye shadows and this one is the smoothest out of all, the difference might be due to the different finishes. The texture is medium smooth; it is not very hard and not very soft. The problem with soft eye shadows is that there is a lot of fallout that is not a problem with this one. I think purple color is a must have for Indian skin tones, as it looks very flattering and complements dark brown eyes really well. And makes my eyes pop. Also this particular shade will suit all from light to dark skin tones and will not look stark or ashy on anyone.

It is very pigmented, you get good amount of color payoff. In the swatch itself I have swatched it twice without any primer underneath. It is a very buildable color and looks great on crease as well. Also you can use smoke it out with a little black eye shadow, for a Smokey eye. Even after patting it on it does not look patchy at all and blends easily. It stays on my oily lid for around 6 hours, after which it starts to fade and with a primer it stays for 7-8 hours which is great. It is very hard to find such great quality eye shadow at such a low price. It contains a lot of product and comes with a shelf life of 3 years.

Pros of Essence Mono Eye shadow 19 Disco Diva:

• Great pigmentation
• smooth texture
• Stay on for long time
• Blends easily
• Reasonably priced

Cons of Essence Mono Eye shadow 19 Disco Diva:

• Some may find packaging cheap looking.
• Little fallout
