Essence Mono Eyeshadow – Shrimp Me Up Review

Essence Mono Eyeshadow – Shrimp Me Up Review

Off late, I have become a total makeup addict, it all began with eyeliners and lipsticks and ended on eyeshadows, and in between, there was everything else.  What if you can find some great colorful eyeshadows from a good brand, how can I miss it even without giving it a try.  A month ago, I did a small haul from Essence, they have some awesome stuff with cute packaging, and I also bought eye shadows, one of which I am reviewing today.

My Experience with Essence Mono Eyeshadow – Shrimp Me Up:

After seeing this beautiful coral color, I could not resist myself from buying it. The color is a bright vibrant pink color leaning a little towards coral. Essence has different eye shadow finishes – matte, satin, metallic, shimmer. This particular shade is shimmer effect. Though it says shimmer effect, it is not at all shimmery.  When applied, it looks more like a satin finish, which is what I like the most.  It has a beautiful finish when applied. It is not at all powdery; seriously, I was not expecting them to be so good. It is very smooth and not at all powdery, barely has any fallout even when swiped with a brush. This one is very similar to MAC eye shadow Sushi Flower.

It is very pigmented, you get a good amount of color payoff in one swipe itself. In the swatches, I have swatched it only once, left without base and right with NYX eye shadow base. It is a very buildable color and looks great on crease as well. Even after patting it on, it does not look patchy at all and blends easily. It looks great with purples and browns. It stays on my oily lids for 6 hours, after which it starts to fade a bit and with a primer, it stays for 7-8 hours which is great. Considering the quality and the quantity, it is very hard to find such a great eye shadow at such a low price. It contains a lot of product and comes with a shelf life of 3 years.
