My Experience with Essence My Must Haves Eyeshadow- 09 Chilli Vanilli:

Packaging: The eyeshadow comes in a tiny, round, black colored plastic pan with a clear lid. The lid bears the brand’s tagline embossed on it like other essence eye shadows, but the packaging of these eye shadow is a bit different from regular essence eye shadow pans. These are comparatively smaller and these pans can be carried along or can be customized in an eye shadow palette as well. This offers a freedom to customize a palette with the eye shadows of your choice, which is travel-friendly as well. The lid of the pan closes nicely, but it does not shut too tightly and may come off while carrying in the makeup pouch. The clear lid helps to spot the shade easily from the makeup stash during rush hours. The back of the pan has a small circular sticker bearing the shade name and number, along with other necessary information about the product. These tiny pans are easy to store and can be stacked up easily. It does not come with any applicator, but this is not really a con for me, as I do not prefer using those small sponge applicators attached. Overall, the packaging of the product is fine. These must be packed securely while carrying around. Also, the plastic of the pans seems quite fragile and may break upon falling.

Shade: Most of the shades in this range are very sparkling shimmery and great for the upcoming wedding season. Only a few shades lean towards a matte finish. The shade Chilli Vanilli is one of them. It is a soft nude shade, which is absolutely devoid of any sheen or shimmers. It has a lovely matte finish. The shade is good for highlighting the brow bone. This eye shadow can be used during anytime of the day and just anywhere, without having a second thought, as it blends into the skin like a dream and looks very natural. It does not look like a makeup, since it has a matte finish and blends seamlessly into the skin. There are fallout issues with this eye shadow. The formula is decently pigmented. Two to three swipes of this eye shadow are good enough to build up perfectly.

Texture: The texture of this eye shadow is soft and smooth. But, it feels slightly powdery while applying initially. It has a soft velvety feel. It glides effortlessly on the eyelids without any dragging. It blends effortlessly and looks even on the eyelids. The eye shadow does not have the tendency to crease. It is not a waterproof eye shadow and fades away when comes in contact with water. The longevity of this eye shadow is somewhere around 4-5 hours on my eyelids with an eye primer underneath.
