My Experience with Essence My Must Haves Eyeshadow- 16 Dare To Wear:

Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The eye shadow comes in tiny round black colored plastic pan with a clear lid. The lid bears the brand’s tagline embossed on it like other essence eye shadows, but the packaging of this eye shadow is a bit different from regular essence eye shadow pans. These are comparatively smaller and these pans can be carried along or can be customized in an eye shadow palette as well. This offers a freedom to customize a palette with the eye shadows of your choice, which is travel-friendly as well. The lid of the pan closes nicely, but it does not shut too tightly and may come off while carrying in the makeup pouch. The clear lid helps to spot the shade easily from the makeup stash. The simple round pans are easily stackable. The back of the pan has a small circular sticker bearing the shade name and number along with other necessary information about the product. It does not come with any applicator. But, this is not really a con for me, as I do not prefer using those small sponge applicators that comes with such mono eye shadows. Overall, the packaging of the product is fine. The eye shadows must be packed securely while carrying around. Also, the plastic of the pans seems quite fragile and may break upon falling.

Most of the shades in this range are very sparkling shimmery, but there are few matte shades as well. The shade “Dare to wear” is a matte, dull, cobalt blue kind of shade. The color is not really stark and looks nice and subtle upon blending. I love using this shade for lining my lower lash line and in the outer corner of my eyes. Though, there are some very fine silver micro shimmers in this eye shadow, these shimmers are so fine and sparse that they are barely visible. Hence, the eye shadow looks perfectly matte and free from any kind of sheen. This shade is beautiful for creating variety of party looks. This is a pretty shade for night time usage. The formula is decently pigmented and it requires two swipes to impart rich color to the eyes.

The texture of this eye shadow is soft and smooth. It has a velvety feel in it. It glides effortlessly on the eyelids and it is really easy to blend the eye shadow. It does not get patchy. The eye shadow does not have the tendency to crease. The eye shadow does not smudge and stays at all. These eye shadows are not waterproof and hence, they fade away when it comes in contact with water.

The longevity of the eye shadow is somewhere around 5-6 hours on my eyelids with an eye primer underneath. The formula is slightly powdery that causes a little fall out issues. Overall, these eye shadows come with decent quality.
