Essence On The Catwalk Longlasting Lipstick Review

Hello Everyone,

Sorry, for being apart for a long time. Actually, I was busy with my practical exam, which was the reason for my absence on IMBB. As my final exams are coming closer day by day, I don’t get to write on IMBB frequently. But I’ll definitely try to review some of my special chosen products. Let’s move on to today’s review.

Essence On The Catwalk Longlasting Lipstick

Product Description:
Longlasting love… you simply have to fall in love with the long lasting lipsticks by essence. The lipsticks provide your lips with intensive color for several hours without drying them out. You’re sure to find whatever you’re looking for – from bright pink to intensive red and chilled-out berry to subtle nude shades. The essence logo on the texture and the matt, black packaging with a ring of color to match the actual color of the lipstick are true eye-catchers!

Price: INR 299 for 3.8 grams.

My Take on Essence On The Catwalk Longlasting Lipstick:

Packaging: The whole body is black including the case in which the lipstick has been housed. The cap has the Essence logo printed on it, which looks quite nice. The logo is etched on the bullet as well, which gives a very high end feel to the overall lipstick. There is a color coded rim in the middle of the bullet body, which gives you the idea of what color the lipstick is. One can also find a color coded sticker including the shade name at the bottom of the body. The overall packaging looks decent and elegant and is very convenient to use.

Shade: ‘On the Catwalk’ is a little difficult to mention, as it appears a mixture of different shades to me. But I would say it’s a pretty neutral burgundy red color, with strong pink undertones to it. So basically it’s a raspberry kind of pink color, with nice balance of pink and red. The shade looks very sophisticated and gives a fresh appearance to your face. This shade is apt for daily wear and will suit every skin tone. For very fair skin tones, the shade would appear quite natural.

Texture and Pigmentation: The lipstick has a very smooth, silky and a thick creamy texture to it. The dense creamy formula makes it glide effortlessly on lips. The formula is hydrating and it doesn’t feel tacky or waxy on lips. The lipstick doesn’t settle into the lip lines or exaggerates the flaky or dry areas of my lips. After application, it smoothes out my lips and makes it feel soft and supple throughout. The creamy formula of the lipstick doesn’t bleed and feels cakey upon layering. The finish of the lipstick is creamy and has a creamy sheen to it as well. The lipstick has a very strong fruity smell to it, but thankfully it doesn’t last long on your lips.

The lipstick is sheer to buildable in terms of pigmentation. It’s not poorly pigmented, but it doesn’t cover the flaws of lips well in one swipe. Atleast two swipes of the color are needed to get the perfect coverage and bold color. One can further build up the lipstick to intensify the color.

Staying Power: As the name says, the lipstick lasts quite long on lips. I was impressed to get such longevity with a creamy lipstick. The lipstick lasted on me for more than 4 hours, with mild snacking and drinking. Though the bold and dense creamy layer wears off mildly from lips after 2 hours, but the strong stain of the lipstick continues on lips. The lipstick tends to transfer easily into anything and won’t survive heavy or oily food.

Pros of Essence On The Catwalk Longlasting Lipstick:

• Nice neutral burgundy red, with strong pink undertones.
• Will suit every skin tone and is suitable for everyday wear.
• Texture is very smooth and creamy thick.
• Formula is absolutely non-drying and feels comfortable.
• Glides on effortlessly on lips.
• Packaging looks very classy.
• Can be a MLBB shade for extremely fair and cool skin tones.
• Doesn’t aggravate dry and flaky lips.
• The lipstick doesn’t look cakey neither does it bleeds upon layering.
• Staying power is quite good for a creamy lipstick.
• The formula is easily buildable.

Cons of Essence On The Catwalk Longlasting Lipstick:

• Being on the creamy side, the lipstick tends to transfers easily onto anything.
• Not very super pigmented in terms of pigmentation.

IMBB Rating: 4.7/5.
