Essence Quattro Eyeshadow in 05 To Die For

Hey Girls,

I have got another review on Essence product and this time it’s an eyeshadow. Funny thing is I don’t really wear eyeshadows but I tend to always pick up a neutral palette in case I ever want put some colour on my eyelids.

Price: RM 16.90

My Take on Essence Quattro Eyeshadow In 05 To Die For:

This palette is pretty much a basic, simple, neutral and everyday palette for basic, neutral or lazy girls like me. It’s just going to add a subtle color to your lids to make you look more awake, nothing too crazy.

It’s got a silky, kind of soft texture. The shades are all pretty much matte and it’s actually a little chalky but there wasn’t any fallout issue.

Now, I’ve got to say that this palette’s pigmentation is pretty alright. I wouldn’t say that it’s super pigmented but the pigmentation isn’t crap. The colors are pretty noticeable even in single swatch, for more intense look the colours are totally buildable.

They doesn’t look cakey on my eyelids nor do they cause my eyelids to look super dry. They go on really smoothly and blending is pretty easy too, it doesn’t take much effort to blend the shadows.

Shade 1, I’d say it’s a pretty good highlight shade and makes you look more awake if you pop it at the inner conner of your eyes. Shade 2, this is pretty much a nude color and it’d be perfect as a shadow base. Shade 3 and 4, they’re just different shades of brown.

These shades are pretty versatile. You can just use it a shade on it’s own for a subtle color on your eyes or to define your crease. Also, you can create a neutral everyday smokey eye with this palette. The colours are pretty long-lasting, I find that they stay on for the whole day even without an eye primer, though they do fade a tiny bit. With eye primer, these eyeshadows stay put for the whole day and without fading away. However, they are not waterproof eyeshadows and will come off your lids easily if came in contact with water.

The packaging, I’d say it looks nice but the lid doesn’t seem too sturdy, I think that if you drop this once or a few time, the lid is just going to break and you’ll probably end up with a lid-less eyeshadow palette. It is a good makeup bag item as it has a slim and compact packaging that does not take up much space.

Would I repurchase Essence Quattro Eyeshadown In 05 To Die For?

It’s a pretty good and affordable drugstore product but I probably won’t. I am still up for trying new palettes but this is one to look at if you’re ever in a drugstore.
