Hello everyone,
Long time no see, I was busy with some family commitments and hence didn’t have the time to write any review, but today I am here with another shade from Essence Mono Eyeshadow range.
Product Details:
Electrified eyes – the popular mono eyeshadows ensure color highlights on your eyelids and sure to give all girls that extra-special added touch.
Price:
INR 199 for 2.5 gm.
Ingredients:
Packaging:
The eyeshadow comes in a completely transparent packaging including the flip cap. The shadow sits in a silver colored pan and has nice patterns embossed on it. Though the packaging is not awesome, it’s pretty okay for the price.
My Take on Essence Shimmer Yes Eye Can Mono Eyeshadow:
Shade: Yes Eye Can is a nice silvery periwinkle blue color with very micro fine iridescent shimmer in it. The color is a nice pastel blue and hence can brighten up eyes. The shade would look great on fair to medium skin tones, but I doubt that it may wash out darker complexions. The shade is great for nights out or even during a summery day.
Texture/Pigmentation and Finish:
The eyeshadow has a smooth and satiny texture to it, not super creamy, though not chalky either. The consistency is very hard, not super soft. The shadow is very easily blendable; there are no issues with blending and no excess fall out during application. The shadow is nicely pigmented and gives good color pay-off in one swipe, but it kind of applies sheer and uneven by an eyeshadow brush because it’s not very smooth like other shades, it applies better with fingers or a sponge applicator.
The color is very buildable. If you want more color intensity, it won’t cake up upon layering. The finish of the eyeshadow is satiny and pearlescent, not overly shimmery or matte.
Staying Power: For the inexpensive price tag, I find the quality and staying power very decent. The shadow lasted on me for 4-5 hours without any primer base. But I noticed slight fading after 2 hours, but the color still lasts vibrantly on the eyes. The shadow doesn’t crease throughout.
Pros of Essence Shimmer Yes Eye Can Mono Eyeshadow:
- A pretty bright, pastel periwinkle blue color.
- Texture is smooth and satiny.
- The shadow is easily blendable.
- No excess fallout during application.
- Packaging is good and travel friendly.
- Inexpensive price.
- Nice pearlescent finish.
- Decent pigmentation and color payoff in one swipe.
- The color can be layered easily for more intensity and it won’t cake up.
- Staying power is decent for 4-5 hours without any primer base.
- Doesn’t crease.
- Perfect to wear at day and night.
Cons of Essence Shimmer Yes Eye Can Mono Eyeshadow:
- The color may not suit a variety of skin tones.
- The consistency of the eyeshadow is a little harder.
- The color will apply sheer with an eyeshadow brush.
Would I Recommend Essence Shimmer Yes Eye Can Mono Eyeshadow?
Yes definitely, if you’re a bright shade lover in case of eyeshadow, don’t skip it. Though the consistency is a little harder, the color is nice, it’s easily blendable, non gritty with a non-chalky texture and decent pigmentation and staying power.
IMBB Rating:
4.68/5.
I did a little Makeup Revolution (MUR) haul – I bought 2 Intense Lip lacquers in shade ‘No Ordinary Love’ and ‘Didn’t I tell you’, intense lip lacquers are glossy lip lacquers. And a matte velvet lip lacquer in shade ‘What I Believe’ and a Cream blush in shade ‘Rose cream’ I also bought a lipstick in shade Luscious which has been reviewed. Stay tuned to IMBB for reviews.

Supriya, is it more blue in person?…In the pictures it only seems like silver 🙂 Also, looking forward to your MUR reviews too, neat 🙂
Yes jasmine it’s more of a blue it has that silvery sheen to it which makes it appear a silvery color.
Nice review and EOTD, Supriya 🙂 Lovely haul, Supriya 🙂 I hope ‘luscious’ works for you 🙂
