My Experience with Essence Shine Shine Shine Lipgloss – Flirt Alert:
The packaging of the Essence Shine Shine Shine Lipgloss is very similar to their matt lipglosses. It comes with a stiff and sturdy applicator which makes the application easier. The print on the outer packaging gets eroded easily with time. I feel the packaging has improved a bit when compared to their matt lipglosses.
The shade “Flirt Alert” is basically a soft pink color and it will look good on a lot of skin tones. I have a duskier skin tone and I feel it looks more like a tinted lip balm on my lips. The gloss has a very sheer consistency. It glides smoothly over the lips and the color payoff is really good. The tip of the applicator is tapered which makes the application easier.
Usually, I apply a very small amount of the lipgloss as it makes my lips look natural. But when I apply a little more, I feel that it bleeds and my lips start feeling sticky. Also, the product has a slight shimmer in it. The staying power of the lipgloss is not so good. It lasts for around 2 to 3 hours and then it definitely needs a reapplication. My lips feel slightly dry after using the product and the gloss transfers a lot onto cups and glasses.
Make sure your lips are well moisturised before applying the product else it will settle into the creases and will make your lips patchy. The lipgloss also has a mild, sweet taste to it and I tend to lick when something tastes sweet on the lips. I think it’s natural to do it and this leads to lower staying power. I would not use this lipgloss for work, but I feel it is more suitable for weekends or outings.
