When I am on a shopping spree, I tend to pick up the products that grab my attention. I was going through Essence makeup section as I heard that they have a new range of coats for nails. There are around 4 products released by Essence for improving the quality of nails. Out of all, I picked this one up as it is a ‘growth booster’. So read on to know more about Essence Studio Nails Growth Booster.

Claims:
Grow up. The growth booster delivers on its promises! Thanks to the highly effective keratin ingredients, it improves the structure of the nail surface within a short period of time, promotes natural nail-growth and ensures stronger nails as they grow longer.

My Experience with Essence Studio Nails Growth Booster:

I had never used a top or a base coat until last month. I picked up Catrice Gel Like 2 in 1 Top and Base Coat and I really liked the results it gave. The ends of my nails are peeling and become a little brittle over the course of time. I have been using nail lotion and it has provided results to some extent but I was looking for a product for nail strengthening and nail growth.

The packaging is a transparent glass bottle with reddish-pink hues at the bottom and has a white cap. The polish looks white in the bottle and looks gluey gel-like when applied. But, it gives a clear finish. There is no mention anywhere on how the product has to be applied, if it has to be applied just alone or if it can be paired up with a nail polish. I use it as a base coat and also apply a coat when I go nail polish free. I was using Catrice top and base coat, and after getting this, I have stopped using that one. I am now waiting for my nails to be back in shape before I start over.

I have been using it for almost a month now and I have seen some differences. My nails stopped peeling at the ends. My nails are less brittle compared to the old times. So the keratin in the nail booster does the trick. But, coming to the main claim of the product, “growth booster”. I hardly find any growth effects on my nails. My nails are growing just naturally and there is nothing that the booster does to make my nails grow.

My nails are harder and I team up with Vaseline nail lotion and that could also be doing the trick. The surface of my nails is smoother but there is discoloration. My nails are naturally pale and the product doesn’t do anything to make them look healthy. The product adds a shiny coat to the nails and it camouflages the paleness, but there are no real effects. The product is good as a nail strengthener but not as a growth booster.
