I have curbed my random makeup purchases, mostly because of my limited storage space, but once in a while I do buy new makeup, mainly things that I use on a daily basis. This includes a mascara and a brow product, which need to be replaced almost every 2-3 months. I stick to budget-friendly products and Essence has been my go-to mascara brand for years. They seem to offer countless options that extremely affordable rates and suffice for my needs. I picked up this new Essence The False Lashes Mascara Dramatic Volume Unlimited recently and here’s my review on it.

My Experience with Essence The False Lashes Mascara Dramatic Volume Unlimited:

The mascara looks very cool and chic, perfect for young girls. Steering clear of completely metallic or glossy packaging, the mascara tube is matte white, black and coral with the product details written in stylized fonts. The tube also houses other product details. Overall, I adore the cute and lightweight packaging.

The mascara is not very thick or creamy, it’s slightly runny and wet. It is jet back in color and perfect for that intense shiny black look. It’s not a dull black color. It being thinner in consistency doesn’t clump lashes in just 2 coats, thus making lashes look fluttery and elongated.

It takes time to dry, so you need to wait a minute before it settles down completely. You might need a mascara guard to prevent it from transferring if you have oily, hooded lids. The mascara wand is small, dense and conical, giving precise lash coating. It separates and elongates each lash, giving length and volume. It doesn’t add any curl nor add special holding capacities to curled lashes. It’s a great replacement for false lashes without the struggle.

It stays great for 6-7 hours, and doesn’t smudge. My lashes look really sorted- nice, long and dense for a long part of my working day. It however, isn’t waterproof. So if you cry a river, you can expect it to smear all around. I would say it’s water resistant, as it doesn’t breakdown with a single drop or two.

I like how my lashes don’t harden up or feel clumpy. It’s easy to remove with cleansers like micellar water, cream and oil based removers. I am happy that Essence offers this good quality mascara at this price.
