I am sure that most of us love to have their nails painted over a natural bare look. I love nail paints like crazy and keep buying them often. It is very rare that I find many lovable colors from a single range and this time I spotted some gel nail polishes from Essence and decided to pick them up. My Experience with Essence The Gel Nail Polish – 10 True Love, 16 Fame Fatal, 47 Va-va-voom, 48 My Love Diary, 58 Need Your Love:
The nail polish comes in a curvy glass bottle with a tight plastic cap which has the company logo engraved on it. The color of the cap matches the shade. There is the name of the shade on the back and I personally love the package. The screw cap closes very tightly and there are no chances of leakage or dryness. The nail polish has an acetone-like smell but it is not so overpowering.
The brush is of a good quality and is dense. The brushes are great and they fan out creating an even application the nail polish. They cover the corners easily too and do not cause any streaks or messy finish. I absolutely love the quality it offers at a lesser price. I would buy the nail polish for the dense, flat brush.
There are around 35 shades available in this range. I picked up mostly pinks and corals since I had other colors bought from Kiko Milano and wanted some girly shades for the coming autumn! The consistency of the nail polish is perfect for an easy application.
The nail polishes create a gel-like effect and provide good pigmentation. With one swipe, I am able to achieve a good color on my nails. Around 2-3 coats create a plump gel-like finish on my nails. Most of the colors offer a glossy finish and the matte one doesn’t really look like matte. The nail polish feels very creamy when applied. I usually use a base coat to protect my nails. The product is deeply pigmented and with around 2 coats, I can achieve the desired results. I use one more coat just to create depth to the color.
The product with or without a base coat lasts for a good 3-4 days without any issue. There is no chipping, cracking or peeling off. After the time, it fades away mostly from the tip of the nails and near the cuticles due to the nail growth. Even after 7 days, it stayed good without any issues and it went on for around 10 days and since my nail had grown a bit and I have a tendency to peel off near the cuticle, I removed the nail polish. So, I am sure that the nail polish stays for a week without any issues! I don’t use a top coat as it messes up with the look, but I think you can increase the longevity with a good top coat to seal in the color. The dark colors do leave a mess when removing and need a lot of remover. The others do not take a lot of remover and can be easily removed without any stain left behind. The nail polish dries pretty quickly. It dried on my nails within a minute and I love it!
The details on the shades are as below:
10 True Love: This is a beautiful purple magenta. The deep pink shade is beautiful and it deeply pigmented. This one leaves a stain too.
16 Fame Fatal: This is a deep red. I never owned a red shade in my life. Seeing everyone rocking red nails, I wanted to give this one a try and I love it! It compliments my skin tone and brightens up my hands! This is a very feminine, bold shade.
47 Va-va-voom: It is a bright coral red. It is deeply pigmented and one coat is more than enough to achieve the look. The look is shiny and is not matte as claimed!
48 My Love Diary: This is a beautiful rose pink shade. This is my favorite of the lot. It is deeply pigmented and with 2 coats you can achieve beautiful color.
58 Need Your Love: This one is a brownish-red shade. The color is similar to the old Shringar tube. It is a dark shade and has a shiny finish. When applied on the nails, it creates a deep pigment with just one swipe.
I absolutely love the shades and quality it offers. It is no less than a high-end brand. These nail polishes are a must to have in your vanity! So, summing up:
