Essie Nail Lacquer in Madison Ave-hue
Hey gals.. 🙂
How Are You Doing Today? I Am Here Again To Share My Next Essie Nail Lacquer purchase with you all and it is as usual okay for me looking at the price and quality of product. After my average experience with Mojitos Madness, I tried another lacquer to change my opinion about Essie products, but sadly it failed to impress me. Let’s read further to know more about this Essie Nail Lacquer in Madison Ave-hue….
Price: $8-$10 for 13.5 ml, 0.46 Fl Oz, price vary across stores.
Ingredients: DBP, Formaldehyde and toluene free formulation.
Product Description: Chic upper east side pink nail polish steps out in style, perfectly punctuating any ensemble with quiet luxe. cha-ching. DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde free.
Packaging: This runny nail lacquer comes in as usual sturdy and transparent glass bottle packaging with very average brush applicator. It does have faint smell which is not alcoholic and over powering. However I was expecting much more than this thin and tricky brush applicator apart from quality that too after investing 9-10 bucks.
My Experience with Essie Nail Lacquer in Madison Ave-hue:
Well I bought it for its bright and chic pink shimmery shade and this might be the one and only reason of its placement in my kit honestly. The shade is bright fuchsia mixed pink with silver shimmers which are not at all frosty or loud on nails. They give such youthful glow to skin.
But sadly this is the only impressive fact about this nail lacquer and as usual Essie failed again to impress me like previous Mojitos Madness for number of reasons which are very important for me being a die-hard fan of nail lacquers.
The first disappointment starts from brush itself which is too average to give effortless streak free finish. Probably I have been used to of big broad brushes like that of OPI or Sally Hansen salon manicure, hence my expectations seem quite high but look at the price which is almost closer to any OPI, Sally Hansen product, then why would anyone choose this Essie over other good quality products?
Talking about the texture, it is quite runny and watery with hint of shimmers which might be streaky and tacky at times and strictly need 2-3 coats for even finishing and long lasting color pay off. It gives slight full coverage in 2-3 swipes with no cakey or made up feel which is good point other than drying real fast and easing our pain of multiple swipes.
However, it hardly stays for 4-5 days on my nails irrespective of house tasks. I can still manage with watery consistency of nail lacquer but I can’t compromise with finishing and staying power of my nail products because I am too much a lazy bum to change my nail paints every 2nd-3rd day.. 😛
Besides that I really hate those nail lacquers which take too much of my time & patience for decent color pay off & even finishing and sadly this particular nail lacquer is one of those irritating products which test my patience.. 😛 I feel this product is meant for makeup enthusiasts who change their nail paint with their dress everyday unlike busy moms like me who hardly get time to take shower in a day.. 😛
Pros of Essie Nail Lacquer in Madison Ave-hue:
- A bright shimmery nail lacquer with glossy sheen and finishing
- It is way subtle on nails even with those sparkles
- It stays for decent 3-4 days on nails irrespective of household tasks
- It dries real quick on nails thereby easing our task of multiple swipes with the nail paint
- It does not look cakey or made up with multiple swipes even
Cons of Essie Nail Lacquer in Madison Ave-hue:
- It’s tricky brush is real culprit for tacky streaky finish I feel
- The consistency is way watery to give even finishing
- The staying power could have been better than 3-4 days
- It demands too much of time & patience to wear it on nails in spite of drying fast
- For 9-10 dollars we have much better quality and staying power nail lacquers in market
Will I Repurchase/ Recommend Essie Nail Lacquer in Madison Ave-hue?
Well I feel gals who are habitual of broad and fluffy brush (like OPI or Sally Hansen salon manicure) will understand my point of hating its average brush which hardly picks up right amount of lacquer its either always over flowing on nails or merely a drop to cover one nail even.. :/
Though I am nail care freak still my nail grooming holds least preference and I always do them in hurry hence I prefer mess free products hence it puts an end to my possibility of getting this nail lacquer again.
It’s a skip for me as I have much better choices in 9-10 dollar and I believe I can get 4-5 sinful colors products at same price with similar qualities.. 😛 I am sure people who have tried sinful colors, Sally Hansen or OPI products will agree to my opinion.
