Essie Naughty Nautical Nail Polish Review

The temperatures has suddenly dropped here in Hyderabad and it feels so good to get cosy within the blanket and sip filter coffee. The city is in festive mood for the Festival Sankrati/Pongal, “the festival of kites”. We had a lantern festival few days back and it was lovely witnessing a night sky filled with lanterns flying away to the stars and moon.

I would also like to share a little about me. I have always been attracted towards colorful nail paints. As a child, I always made a fuss when my mother didn’t let me buy a new one until the old bottle finishes. Now, I am a complete hoarder and every Sunday I make it a point to paint my mom’s nails with all intricate designs.

Coming to the product to be reviewed today is Essie Naughty Nautical Nail Polish.

My Experience with Essie Naughty Nautical Nail Polish:

It is a beautiful sea-green color with a hint of shimmer. The Nail polish comes with a thin sleek brush which is ideal for thin nails. The wand picks up a lot of product so you need to wipe the stick at the edge of the bottle before applying it on nails else too much polish is deposited on nail bed. I am not so fond of the brush after using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail brush.

The shimmer is more evident on the bottle than on the nails. It dries to a perfect cream with high shine with 2 coats of the polish. Essie nail polishes are DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde free. So, they do not harm the nails.

To avoid staining due to higher pigmentation in Yellow/Green/Blue nail paints, it is always advisable to always use a base coat before applying the nail paint. It doesn’t take long to dry so it gives a glossy finish within very less time. The color is very spring/summery and would look good on fair and medium skin tones.

The staying power is good and stays upto 4 days with minimal fading. As I hardly do much household chores, the nail paint stays fairly well on my nails. The staying power and glossy finish can be enhanced by using a good top coat.

• Good Staying power of upto 4-5 days depending on indulgence in household chores.
• It is free from harmful chemicals .

Cons of Essie Naughty Nautical Nail Polish:

• Not readily available in India .
• Too expensive if available online.

Would I Recommend Essie Naughty Nautical Nail Polish?

Yes. I would recommend to all the blue and green nail polish lovers like me. As I didn’t find a dupe of this color in available brands in India.

Would I Re-purchase Essie Naughty Nautical Nail Polish?

No. it is 13.5 mL and would go a long way. I would try other colors from Essie.
