Introducing the new vision in color for the Fall 2010 season, the Blue Dahlia Pure Color Collection for smoldering eyes, shimmering lips and bold nails. Estee Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux debuted his inspiration for this collection backstage at the Derek Lam Autumn/Winter 2010 Fashion Show. At the “Myth of the West” themed show, Tom created a strong, intensely energetic look that perfectly tied together the design and fantasy of the clothing. The complete makeup collection includes two distinct looks as well as two complementary lip products that create a visionary, avant-garde look with a touch of whimsical glamour.

In this intensely seductive collection eyes take center stage in electric blue and vintage violet, lips are shimmering in subtle shades of pale pink and raspberry shine while rich nail hues of deep navy and iridescent lilac complete the look.

Rich, Striking Eyes

For me, as a makeup artist, the beauty of the Pure Color Eye Shadow Palettes is that there are five colors and textures. To be able to play and to build up makeup from a neutral to smoky to funky, playful face is what I love.” Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estee Lauder

The Pure Color Eye Shadow Palettes in Blue Dahlia and Surreal Violet are a powerful mix of cool, mysterious shades that mimic the fiercely theatrical world at the edge of night. Housed in a sophisticated gold-mirrored compact with oversized Estee Lauder cartouche, each palette holds five mesmerizing shadow and texture combinations to create endless looks that are both enticing and alluring. Layer the different shades and textures for optimal intensity.

Highlight and illuminate your eye look with four new shades of Pure Color Eye Shadow in Twilight Rose and Enchanted Meadow for a standout pop of color.

Stunning, Juicy Lips Drenched in Shimmer

Ethereal shades of raw pink and magenta adorn the lips in a soft, sensual shine. Swipe shades of Pure Color Lipstick Stick in Pink Parfait and Rubellite and layer with Pure Color Gloss in Rock Candy, Twilight Petal and Star Pink for a subdued lip look that perfectly balances strong eyes for a lasting impression.

Super Chic, Luxe Chic Shades for Nails

Complement lustrous lips with perfectly polished nails in mythical shades. Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Blue Dahlia and Surreal Violet perfectly pair with the collection to finish off nails and toes in dramatic, fearless color.

  2. Due to the fact I am a big Lauder fan I was thinking about picking up the Surreal Violet palette when Lauder launched the collection in Europe about two months ago. I did not – without a specific reason, it was only about the fact that I decided that I really have enough eyeshadow palettes in the featured shades.

But: I really, REALLY recommend Lauder products to everybody looking for a brand which offers high quality and high pigmented, smooth shadows, brilliant lipsticks & glosses and in general very good products containig modern ingredients. For sure brands featuring all natural cosmetics are supposed to have better ingredients; but: comparing to ingredients used in so-called conventional cosmetics Lauder products are really one of the top brands and you reall won´t find any really bad ingredients in Estee Lauder product.

One other important thing I want to mention is the fact that Lauder Companies do not any animal testing since 1987 (well, L´Oreal claims not to do animal testing, too – and they do not, they rather let different laboratories do it for them   – a really no go for me  ) and furthermore Estee Lauder spent over 500 mio US$ so far in developement of alternative testing methods. I am no big fan of conglomerates at all and, at least, there are only two titans/global players when it comes to cosmetics: Lauder and L´Oreal. But there is no doubt which one is not only more sympathic but also really takes care about ingredients, responsability and ethics. And that´s the reason I really like Lauder products.

    1. lol, I am so much in this ingredients thing that I have tons of REALLYs in my post 😆
And, for sure, the product quality is another, important reason I like Lauder products.

    2. Tajana,

I agree and thanks for the great comment. Their products are of top quality. Their blush and eye shadows feel like silk . Their Mascaras are one of the best in market. And their perfumes are classy. After trying a few high end brands I think I can close my eyes and buy Estee Lauder products any time. You would never regret buying their stuff. Atleast I have not faced any problem with their products so far.

And I think among high end brand I think Estee Lauder and Chanel make one of the best glosses.

      1. Well, MAC has lovely glosses as well – but MAC belongs to Lauder Companies.
MUFE has lovley products, too. Maybe one reason I recommend Lauder as oft as I get the chance to is the fact, that Lauder is supposed to be some kind of an so-called “old-fashioned” brand here in Germany. I have no idea why a lot of german beauties think so. It got better the last years and the palettes are quite popular on german boards etc – well, ok: more popular than earlier Lauder editions/collections. But still a lot of german beauties consider Estee Lauder products as cosmetics for older beauties. This is a real german phenomenon and I definitely do not agree & don´t understand it.

One more information: Guerlain launched palettes with very similar shades, they are packaged in heavy, very nice metal boxes and cost about 70 € here. I did not buy any of these, too – same reason I mentioned above 😉

        1. There is so much we get to learn from you all the time. Thanks. 🙂

As you mentioned the MUFE HD foundation has started to dry out my dry skin. The weather here is getting colder so I think i would have to store it for summers now. But I love their blush. I keep using it all the time. 🙂

          1. TY 🙂 Sometimes it´s a little plus to be an old lady 😉

I agree, Estee Lauder decorative cosmetics are products I would buy blind.
Never got disappointed of any of their make up products.

I storaged the MUFE HD as well, even I have mixed skin the product is nothing for winter time for me. I will try to get some jojobaoil-pimped mineralized foundation from a friend for you, she really makes lovely MF but only for friends. I only need to know you skin tone, is it NC35?

  3. me no liking Estee Lauder :smug: …..Estee lauder bad  ..not available in Hyderabd….grapes are sour :alien: …EL good only after it opens in HYd… :quiet:

  5. in btwn i was actually wondering if my husband has anything to do with me not being able to read the posts. 😛 now im sure he is innocent….but if he gets to know i will apply in Delhi just to get the first glimpse of new launches…. 😉 im sure he will endup doing something to stop me from IMBB 😛 😛 😛 :rotfl: :rotfl:
