Estee Lauder Desirable 120 Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick Review

I have already reviewed a peachy n*de shade from Estee Lauder’s Pure Envy Line, “Insatiable Ivory,” and a MLBB shade “Intense N*de” on the blog earlier. In keeping with the same theme, today’s review will be on another shade of n*de, let’s find out more about it 🙂

Packaging: This lipstick comes packaged in a square deep royal blue case with golden detailing. The top has Estee Lauder engraved on it, so does the inner tube; looks very classy and uber cool! And the best part is the magnetic closure!

The lipsticks in this “Pure Color” range all come in a royal blue cardboard box. The box is seal wrapped in plastic – ensuring hygiene and non contamination.

My Experience with Estee Lauder Desirable 120 Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick:

Color:  The shade “Desirable” is a pinky n*de color with a creamy finish, which hugs the lips. Girls who prefer pinks, will definitely find this a better option than “Insatiable Ivory.” The shade is quite muted and subtle and will balance out a bold eye look very well.

Texture: The texture is consistent across the whole “Envy” line, at least, all the shades that I have tried. It’s lightweight, creamy, glides easily on the lips, and hugs them with colour. This lipstick does not accentuate fine lines. It actually makes the lips look very appealing. It is hydrating and very comfortable to wear.

Pigmentation:  For a soft shade, the pigmentation is fairly good, you don’t have to go over and over the lips for the color to show up. However, as in the case of “Insatiable Ivory,” this one too allows the deeper lip pigmentation to show up. I would advise the use of a lip liner underneath, for optimum coverage, something like MAC Boldly Bare or Estee Lauder Spice.

Staying Power:  Like “Insatiable Ivory,” this one too didn’t live up to the “6 hour of full coverage” claim made by the brand. I got about 4.5 hours of wear time with this, post which it completely disappeared.

• Beautiful peachy n*de shade.
• Easy to apply from the tube.
• Does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.
• Feels hydrating.
• The color hugs the lips nicely – no feathering or bleeding.
• Luxe and classy feel to the tube and case!
• Vanilla fragrance.
• Magnetic closure of the case.

Cons of Estee Lauder Desirable 120 Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick:

• Pigmentation isn’t fully opaque.
• Color lasts for about 4-4.5 hours, falling short of the brand’s claim.
• There has been a bit of melting in the tube, which may well be because I traveled with it.

The shade may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Though the shade looks nice, I feel there are better options in the market, even within this same line. So, give this a try before you buy this kind of color.
