This review has been pending since a very long time. It is also available as a day moisturizer, which has got SPF in it; as well as one for dry to very dry skin. Actually, I got it early this year, when it was still winter-y at my place. I have dry skin, especially during winters, which turns normal to combination during the rest of the year. Though the SA told me to buy the one for the dry skin type, I bought this because winters were soon fading and the summer and humid months were on the way. So, I have been using it through the winters, spring, summer, and now the unpredictable rainy season. My skin gets dry in winters, and normal to combination during summers, so I can personally tell you the effect of this cream through all these seasons.
Estée Lauder Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Crème brings an instant rush of moisture and vitality to your skin, keeping it significantly hydrated for up to 24 hours. It fights the signs of premature aging while strengthening your skin’s moisture barrier by 50% over time. Its exclusive Sustainable Moisture Complex™ leaves your skin youthful, healthy, soft, silky smooth and super hydrated.
How To Use:
Apply morning and night after your serum.
Rs. 3800/- for 50 ml product.
It comes in an usual Estee Lauder box packaging for cremes. The box is blue colored, with all details written on it. The box contains a heavy tub inside, again a translucent blue shade, with a golden lid. On opening the lid, we get another plastic cover to protect the cream and prevent it from spillage. Overall, a typical Estee Lauder packaging, though I do not like such a wide mouth tub packaging personally. I find such a packaging unhygienic, as well as degradation of the precious ingredients on contact with air.
Fragrance/Color/Consistency: This is a white-colored cream, with a soft gel-like consistency. It seems as if it is a mixture of cream and a light gel. The gel part maybe due to the fact that this product is meant for combination skin types. A small dollop of product is needed for my entire face and neck area at night times. It has a banana-like fragrance, which I personally don’t love, but do not mind either.
Results: I have mainly used this as a night cream, on top of a serum. During winters, when my skin was dry (but not the very dry, flaky kinds); I found this one inadequate to provide enough hydration to my skin. I had to apply it 2-3 times at night; still my skin seemed to absorb all the moisture and it would not be soft or supple in the morning.
Coming to the summer days, this is when I have normal skin, and according to the brand, this cream was most suitable for me. I live at a place where it becomes very hot, but not humid (dry heat). In summers, I found applying it once was enough for the night times, my skin felt soft enough at night. But when I woke up in the mornings, I was still not quite satisfied. I still felt my skin a bit tight and stretchy. I cannot say that this provided me with 24-hour hydration as claimed by the brand.
Now, comes the humid season – the rainy season when the weather is hot and humid. The weather just goes crazy during this time; being hot sometimes and rainy and cold sometimes. This is the time my skin really goes towards the combination end; what with the high humidity factor. This is the time when I find this cream working best for me. My skin is already sweaty and sticky during this time; and this cream gets absorbed into the skin immediately. It really nourishes my skin and keeps it soft and hydrated, even till the morning hours. My skin feels soft and supple; and feels as if the cream has actually added much-needed moisture to my skin, which the unpredictable weather and the AC in my bedroom was sucking out of my skin. I cannot see any radiance or glow, but my skin does feel hydrated and healthy.
So, I have shared my experience with you about this product, which is meant to provide hydration to normal and combination skin type skin. I think that this is a fallacy. This cream is best suited for combination to oily types. It would work well for them in winters; and also during the rest of the year if they live in places of high humidity. This does not provide too much hydration, so if your skin is already hydrated or oily and the environment is also helping you out by adding additional moisture; then this would be really good for you.

Cons of Estee Lauder Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Crème:

- Does not add radiance or glow to skin.
- Limited availability in India.
Would I Repurchase Estee Lauder Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Crème?
No, it did not do much for my normal to combination skin during the major part of the year, except maybe during the highly humid rainy days.
