In continuation with my perfect n*de lip search, I have another Estee Lauder lip color review for you. I have shared its swatches with you earlier while reviewing the shades – “Insatiable Ivory” and “Desirable.” Read on to find out more about how this one performed.

The lipstick comes packaged in a square deep royal blue case with golden detailing. The top has Estee Lauder engraved on it, so does the inner tube. Looks very classy and uber cool! And the best part is the magnetic closure! The lipsticks come in a royal blue cardboard box. The box is seal wrapped in plastic – ensuring hygiene and non contamination.

My Experience with Estee Lauder Impulsive 210 Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick:

Color: The shade “Impulsive” is a soft, warm, muted pink – almost like a creamy pastel color, but not like a chalky pastel pink. You know what I mean? The color is a nice for office goers who may want a neutral shade, but are not keen on the regular shades of brown – seriously, not everyone cares for the Kylie Jenner look. So, this is again a pinky n*de shade, but with a bit more pink in it, than “Desirable.” In the hand swatches, it’s actually quite difficult to discern between the two; however, the nuances are more apparent in the lip swatch.

Texture: The texture is nice and creamy, very lightweight and glides easily on the lips. The formula is easy to wear and is quite hydrating, just like the other shades in the line. It doesn’t accentuate the fine lines. On the contrary, the formula actually eases out wearing of this color meaning if the formula was drying, a light pastel color would make the lips look really bad and prunish, which is just not the case with this.

Pigmentation: For a soft, muted shade, the pigmentation is fairly good, you don’t have to build the colour on you lips; however, as in the case of “Insatiable Ivory” and “Desirable,” this one too allows the deeper lip pigmentation to show up. You can see the pigmentation of the outer line of my lower lip peeping through, not too obvious, but still there.

Staying Power: Like “Insatiable Ivory,” this one too didn’t live up to the “6 hour of full coverage” claim made by the brand. I got about 4.5 hours of wear time with this, it does not survive a meal.

Cons of Estee Lauder Impulsive 210 Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick:

Pigmentation isn’t fully opaque.
Color lasts for about 4-4.5 hours, falling short of the brand’s claim of minimum 6 hours of full coverage.
I have experienced a bit of melting with a couple of shades while travelling, can’t really blame the brand on that because they aren’t really meant to travel with the Cargo.

I think this is a nice n*de shade and can really benefit with the use of a lip liner underneath it, which would give it longevity and better coverage to pigmented lips. I do understand that this color may not be for everyone. It does feel a bit girly, if you want a slightly more pigmented, more easily wearable soft pink – do check out the YSl Volupte lipstick in shade 09 – Caress Pink – a lovely – more neutral shade.
