I mentioned a couple of days back that I had a small haul from the Estee Lauder candy store. Its Christmas time and we are all allowed to buy some candy, aren’t we? Here I share with you the first one from that haul. Since we are in Fall, I picked a fall shade from my favorite lipstick formula. Lets see how it performed.

Packaging:

As I mentioned in my previous review, the packaging for Envy Lipsticks has been changed from the regular golden Pure Color line. The Envy lipsticks are in a classic square deep royal blue tube with top and base golden in colour. The top has Estee Lauder engraved on it, so does the inner tube.

The lipsticks come in a Royal blue cardboard box. The box is seal wrapped in plastic – ensuring hygiene and non-contamination.

My experience with Estee Lauder – Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick – Insolent Plum:

The Color: The shade I picked is the perfect fall shade – Intense and plummy. Insolent Plum is a deep Plum with loads of Ooompf. The shade seemed similar to MAC Rebel, so I swatched it against MAC Rebel and Estee Lauder Pure Color Rebel raspberry. On a arm swatch they seem similar but are very different in texture. MAC Rebel is lighter and lacks the intensity for pigment since it is a satin finish from MAC. Rebel Raspberry was quite similar to MAC Rebel but with the addition of fine sparkle which gives it a new life. Insolent Plum is the most intense of the three with much better pigmentation and finish. The finish is still satin but it has a luminous light to it without being overly glossy or having any fine shimmer. Love the shade!!

 

Texture – Texture is consistent across the line – it is light-weight, creamy and glides smoothly on the lips – no tug or pull. The colour hugs the lips, sculpting them perfectly, without accentuating fine lines. It was hydrating and very comfortable to wear giving almost whole day of wear.

Pigmentation – The lipstick provides saturated colour pigmentation – 100% colour deposit in one swipe. Love how insanely pigmented these are. You can totally forget lip pigmentation or blemishes with these on.

Lasting Power: The company claims 6 hours of full coverage. The lipstick delivers way above that and then fades into a lovely fade. I applied this and did the photographs. Then remembered that I had to finish lunch before my kids came back from school. So I pretty much ended up having lunch right after putting this on. After lunch, I went to reapply the shade, thinking it would have disappeared with the meal. Lo and behold! It was intact. There was no need for touch up!! Does that tell you something about its staying power.

It’s a bomb of a shade! A must try if you love sporting darker fall shades. What I love about the Company is that they claim 6 hours of wear time, even when their product delivers way more than that. As against some companies which state 12 hour wear time for marketing and the product doesn’t even live upto half of that!
