Reviewing for you the last of the Estee Lauder blushes today. I am quite enjoying these reviews because it’s making me go back and use some of the stuff which had got neglected in the light of newer baubles. So, let’s delve into more details about “Exotic Pink” Pure Color Blush.

My Experience with Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush 04 Exotic Pink Satin:
Shade: The shade “Exotic Pink” is a medium, almost neutral pink with a bit of mauve in it. It can look crazy deep in the pan and may look a bit cool toned and bright when swatched against the shade “Pink Kiss;” however, it is actually a quite wearable pink and not too neonish or bright, thanks to the hints of mauve, which ground it and make it more wearable.
I feel that pinks can actually be quite difficult to carry for medium to deeper skin tones because that is not the natural flush shade for us, but it truly depends on how blendable the shade is and how the whole look has been pulled together. This one is not your “no-brainer” shade – it won’t really work with a warm look. However, I feel that pink blushes add that extra bit of perkiness into a look and lift it up.
In finger swatches, the shade looks medium dark; however, blended out, it looks quite muted and almost natural. The finish of this one is again a satin finish, so it’s devoid of shimmer. It applies almost matte, but with a life.
Texture: I have found the texture of the Estee Lauder Pure Colour blushes to be quite consistent – across the 4 shades I have. It is extremely smooth, soft and silky. It is extremely finely milled and amazingly blendable. It definitely swatches heavily though the texture is not crumbly, but blends out ever so effortlessly. It transfers onto the brush quite easily, so I suggest that you tap off the excess before applying it to your cheeks. It does not get patchy. neither does it accentuate pores.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is amazing. You can refer to the finger swatches for that. However, the texture is so beautiful that it blends into the most natural “blush” – instead of applying like a blotchy which you would then need to work on to diffuse.
Lasting Power: This will last you the whole day, about 10 hours and more. The intensity of the shade may come down a little by the 7-8 hour mark. This aspect too makes it fitting for the working gals.
Visibility on skin tone: The colour shows up easily on my NC30 skintone. One gentle swipe of the brush gives amazing pigmentation. Considering the shade applies more muted than it swatches, deeper skin tone may need to go in with a full brush, but it will show up easily on them too. I must say this, I feel that all the shades of Estee Lauder blushes that I tried, they actually work on all skin tones. Also, I feel that all this shades will look even more appealing on deeper skin.
Pros of Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush 04 Exotic Pink Satin:
- Mauve tinted medium bright pink shade which will look pretty on all skin tones.
- Effortlessly blends into the skin.
- Finely milled, smooth.
- Excellent pigmentation.
- Lasted well over 10 hours on my combination/oily face.
- The color works well for day and night both.
- Did not break me out.
- There is no chalkiness.
- It does not accentuate pores.
- Works well for office goers.
- You get a tonne of product, 7 gm!
Cons of Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush 04 Exotic Pink Satin:
- I just wish the brand would consider making smaller pan and reducing the price accordingly because the price point may well be a deterrent towards people buying such an amazing product.

Overall Thoughts: I do feel that these blushes give you bang for your buck – not only in terms of quantity – but also in terms of quality! They literally melt into your skin. Ideally, I would suggest you to use a fluffy synthetic brush with the Estee Lauder Pure Colour blushes, which is likely to pick up lesser product than a natural hair brush. However, if you are partial to natural hair brushes, I would suggest a grey squirrel hair brush, which would have enough give that the blushes apply softly and diffuse easily.
