I am here to review yet another shade of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick. Don’t kill me!! I promise I didn’t buy this one! This one’s a gift from Estee Lauder, they had a giveaway on their FB page, which I, along with a few other lucky ladies, won.  When the Estee Lauder personnel called me, I did let them know that I had almost all shades except this one and Dominant. They were kind enough to give me “Red Ego.” So, I am able to review this shade for you.

The Envy lipsticks come in a classic square deep royal blue case with gold accents and Estee Lauder on it and also on the inner tube. The lipsticks come in a royal blue cardboard box. The box is seal wrapped in plastic ensuring hygiene and non contamination. The lipsticks have a magnetic closure, which is a satisfying click to the ears!

My Experience with Estee Lauder Red Ego Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick:

Color:  The shade “Red Ego” is a deep cool-toned red, perfect for the fall/winter season. However, this could be out-of-comfort zone for a lot of people since the shade is so deep and rich. However, it’s bound to compliment all skin tones especially medium skin tones like ours.  This isn’t a colour you can apply on the go. This will take you a little patience because any movement out of the lip line is starkly visible.

Texture:  As with all previous shades, the texture is lightweight, creamy, glides easily on the lips and hugs them with color.  Even with this intense a shade, there was no bleeding or feathering. I found it hydrating and very comfortable to wear.

Pigmentation:  Excellent pigmentation as with all the previous ones reviewed, 100% color deposit in a single swipe.  Love the saturated bold color as you swipe the lipstick on.  Refer to the swatch picture for how evenly it swatches and how rich the pigmentation is.

Lasting Power:  As I have mentioned before, the Company claims 6 hours of full coverage. The lipstick definitely delivers on the promise and actually lasts longer, leaving a residual stain which gives your lips another couple of hours of wear. This one especially lasted fairly long because I remember applying it in the morning. After lunch, I categorically checked it thinking I will need a touch-up, but no!! The lipstick was 90% still intact. I did not need a touch up. Now you know why I just LOVE this formula.

• Being a rich dark shade, it will need a little patience to apply. However, the bullet shape is comfortable for precise application.

My collection of Estee Lauder lipsticks is just about complete. I have said it before and I say it again – I love this formula, it reeks quality and is one of the best formulas available in the market today. To add to that, they have a wonderful array of colours to chose from. There are quite a few n*de shades in the line too – more appropriate for Caucasian skin. I have no intention of trying those. I might review one more shade from this line for you, it’s got a funny story with it, but that’s for later. Do let me know how you like this shade.
