Today I’ll be reviewing a really beautiful lipstick from Estée Lauder. This actually belonged to my mom, but when I saw it lying in her vanity, I couldn’t resist grabbing it for myself!!
Price: $25; well, yeah, it’s Estée Lauder!
What the company claims:
An extraordinary lipstick creamy & seductive in color gives smooth, lustrous & shine finish Rich & conditioning effect, yet soft & light Long wearing with hours of moisture.
My Take on Estée Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick – 23 Rich Currant:
Packaging: The packaging of this lipstick I feel is quite basic; this is the older version of the lipstick that I own, but the shade still sells, so do not worry that I’m updating you guys with a shade that does not exist! 😉 I like the newer packaging a lot better; it’s gold and classy looking! 😀 This one is quite sturdy and has the shade name written at the bottom, like all lipstick.
Color: If you are on the hunt for a gorgeous berry shade, your search ends here! The color will flatter any skin tone and is good for both day and night wear! The color does not bleed either, which is again a good thing!
Color pay-off: This lipstick has a beautiful color pay-off, I must say! I wouldn’t say it is superpigmented, but it does manage to leave about 65% to 70% of the color on the lips; you will need to layer it on just for the original color to show up. But if you love sheer lipsticks, then one swipe and you are ready to rock! Dry lipped people need to moisturize before they put this on as it may not go on as smoothly, even though it is very hydrating.
Texture: The texture as described by the company is really hydrating, which gives a lustrous shine and finish. It will not pull or tug when you apply it and you really do not need to moisturize your lips prior to putting it on; however, if you have immensely dry lips, then put a lip balm prior!
Staying power: The lipstick will last no longer than five hours, which is pretty good wear time, but we can expect more, considering it is one of the most popular brands and is expensive too. It does not live up to the claim of “long wearing” though; however, the hydration part I cannot agree enough on. My lips look a lot healthier and hydrated when I apply this lipstick, and I feel it is the best part about it!
Pros of Estée Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick – 23 Rich Currant:
• Beautiful berry shade.
• Universally flattering.
• Good for both day and night wear.
• Is superhydrating on the lips.
• Pigmentation is decent, wouldn’t say the best.
• It does not settle into fine lines.
• Does not bleed.
Cons of Estée Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick – 23 Rich Currant:
• Pricey.
• I have the older packaging; I prefer the newer one as gold and classy is my style!
• Does not last longer than 5 hours; I expected more out of it.
• Isn’t easily available in India.

Do I Recommend Estée Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick – 23 Rich Currant?
Well, it is good, but if you are on a budget, try opting for a similar color in drugstore brands. But if you do not mind spending that extra money, go for it. It’s a good lipstick!

I have mixed feelings, maybe…maybe not! I think I will settle for drugstore dupes!
