Do I like it? Will I buy it?
I will definitely check the lip products, especially the Lip Gelées since these are the first Gelées from Lauder. Regarding the eye products I miss the spring-like colour-burst. On the other side this collection concept accentuates the lips with brilliant, eye-catching colours and the eyeshadows match this homogeneously. Personally I don´t like mixing warm and cool shades in a palette so I think I will leave it.
What I like about this collection:
Again a flower theme, gives an impression of sophisticated limited edition strategy. I appreciate the fact that there is a scent part of the collection – something small brands cannot afford (means: They cannot afford a flop and if you are not backuped with a huge marketing budget a scent is always risky) so I expect these special top-offs from big brands. Last but not least: Liu-Wen for Estée Lauder Spring 2011 Collection :-)) Simply georgeous to use an asian model; come to think this even shouldn´t be an issue to discuss, but: Where are all the other popular brands coming up with models from asia for their international campaigns? Once again Lauder Companies´ flagship brand shows their cutting-edge attitude and cosmopolitan credo. Thank you!

I mean there is so much stuff, especially form the US, oversecented with, guess what: Vanilla … and I think most is synthetic vanilla fragrance – you get a candy-overload when touching the bottle only. Can´t stand it!!! All started with a scent from Gucci in the 90ies…. forogot the name… anyway, it was the first in line of tons of bad-taste-overloads. :silly:

Yes, there is a huge difference between a whiff of natural vanila scent and an synthetic vanilla oil overload. Just a little bit of true vanilla gives a warm and calm coating to a scent… but all these popular candy-like perfumes have nothing of a composition, but more of a real oliphact. overload :announce: :announce:

In general, the Lauder mascaras are underhyped beyond words – as well as the Lancome Mascaras are overhyped. Only my personal oppionion… but i would rather pick up one Lauder Mascara than ten from Lancome 😀

Actually, I quite liked the MAC store. If I knew enough about MAC products I would have loved it more because they are just not bothered at all..I can just go around trying anything I like and nobody would have bothered is the feeling I got. I actually went to them and asked for stuff..otherwise they would have just let me be. And no I did not find them snobbish either. They are just formal..or seemed formal to me…not unfriendly at all, but of course I am used to the superfriendly staff at YSL and Chanel, and the MAC stuff did seem more polite than friendly. Then again, I am much more enthu at the Chanel counter, so its both ways. And I am definitely going to be a regular at the MAC store now..am so curious to see what else is there…and really I feel so stupid being so scared to go in there !!!!

They were part of some limited edtions and are not offered regulary at MAC counters here actually, too. It´s a nice product but no must-have. Furhtermore the Lauder Gelée formula seems to be different and more sticky… which always is a colour-staying insurance 🙂
