Etude House Apricot Stick Gloss #3 Review

I am not fond of shiny lip products. The only glossy products I apply on my lips are the lip balms and I make this compromise because my biggest skin concern are my dark and pigmented lips and the dryness they suffer from. I usually prefer matte-finish lip products. These lip glosses from Etude House caught my attention recently and I thought, why not?! So here comes the review on Etude House Apricot Stick Gloss #3.

My Experience with Etude House Apricot Stick Gloss #3:

This is my first lip gloss by a Korean brand. I like the brand Etude House and since the product was affordable, I decided to try a glossy finish lip product. I like to wear exaggerated eye makeup, so I like to keep my lips more muted and one way to do that is to opt for matte finish products. Gloss finish products stand out on my face in an unflattering manner.

The product comes in a tube packaging and the product is held inside in a chalk form which comes up when the bottom of the tube is twisted. The tube is made up of sturdy plastic and is in the color of the shade. The product comes in 5 different shades and all are variations of red and pink. The product has a very subtle, fruity aroma which lingers as long as the product lasts on lips. It has a lip balm-like texture except it has more color and pigmentation and slightly longer wear time. It is made up of heavy oil, silicone-based products, pigments and artificial flavors.

The ingredient list is clearly disclosed, which is an advantage, but it also clearly shows that this product is full of chemicals and this can be disadvantage for some, especially for those who suffer from lip pigmentation like me.

Etude House Apricot Stick Gloss 3 on lips

This lip gloss lasts like other usual lip glosses (a few hours or as long as we don’t eat or drink too much) and as it vanishes it leaves subtle color on lips. It adds a peach-pink tint to lips which might look pretty on most of us but is certainly not my shade. I am not fond of lip glosses but I enjoyed trying this one because it is by a brand I like and is affordable.

Pros of Etude House Apricot Stick Gloss #3:

  • An affordable lip gloss.
  • Comes in a tube packaging.
  • Five variants in this range – all shades of red and pink.
  • Subtle and pleasing fruity aroma which lingers for a while.
  • Does not have an unpleasant taste (in fact it has not taste whatsoever).
  • Has a texture of a thick, shiny lip balm and the color tint stays even after the gloss vanishes.
  • The tube packaging color helps shade identification easier.

Cons of Etude House Apricot Stick Gloss #3:

  • With Korean products, availability can be an issue for some (there are third party sellers’ who sell Korean brands).
  • This particular shade is not for me. I can perhaps wear a matt version of it but certainly the glossy version.

Do I Recommend Etude House Apricot Stick Gloss #3?
I recommend it only to those who like to dabble with new makeup or those who like glossy lip products. Those who like matt lip shades can skip this particular product.
