In the past, I always used to wonder, why people waste money on just a ‘hand cream’ when any basic body lotion can provide the same moisturization. And then, after college when I started living on my own, my misconception was cleared.

Yes, a 10 day vacation of a housemaid can teach you a lot of things! In those 10 days, the soapy water wreaked havoc on my nails and hands. I tripled the hardening coat on my nails (they still broke while I scrubbed utensils), but I just couldn’t have mixed the body lotion and vim bar!

My maid came back and I learnt that I need to move on to something more than my body lotion. And, that’s when I loosened my purse to buy just a ‘hand cream’- and I was hooked since then. Now, we move on to the latest addition to my hand cream kitty- Etude House Hand Bouquet Rich Butter Hand Cream!

Claims:

Hand cream with Shea Butter (5% content) moisturizes and nourishes hands with an improved anti-wrinkle formula for soft, smooth skin.

Ingredients:

My Experience with Etude House Hand Bouquet Rich Butter Hand Cream:

It has soft plastic packaging with a hint of pink coloured tube and dark coloured plastic screw. The opening of the tube has a narrowed opening and that saves any unnecessary smudging over the rim and the rings of the tube. Easy to open and screw back.

The cream is soft white in shade. It comes out as a smooth textured cream – neither runny nor firm. It instantly blends in your hand and fingers if you start to rub it properly.

I love the smell of roses by certain brands- yes, not the flower smell, but brand’s smell. For example, FE rosewater gel, FE Indian Rose or Crabtree & Evelyn –Evelyn Rose. This too has a rose kind of smell, but very subtle and distinct. And, it was so good that I had to go back to pick it up after touring the entire mall.

The texture is not buttery creamy, but soft creamy. Even smearing it gently on my hand made it vanish faster than I had imagined. It seeps right into the skin and I am sure even if I took a walnut sized amount and rubbed it in, the cream would easily get absorbed.

So, it has got the smell, the texture and the skin softening power right. But, what about the longevity? From a smell point of view, it fainted only after an hour, while I was shopping in the mall. The softness still remained.

But, I tried another test on it. After applying, I rinsed my hand in water to check it’s effectiveness. The smell stayed intact and the hands got a nice soft feeling. Now, water never did that to me before so it must be the cream :D. It claims on an improved anti-wrinkle formula, but I was unable to test that claim.

• Subtle and distinct rose smell, very comforting.
• Blends beautifully and does not leave the uncomfortable buttery-ness on skin.
• Very effective as it passed the water rinsing test!
• Good packaging- no product wastage around the rim.
• Price, though I paid extra in Singapore, but if it costs $5 in US- hey I might as well stack it up!

Cons of Etude House Hand Bouquet Rich Butter Hand Cream:

• Availability in India.
• Chilly winter and super dry skin- this poor baby may need some support.

Definitely! You won’t regret having it. It will definitely make your hands softer, smoother and perfectly fragrant. And, this one is cheaper than few popular brands out there!

Will I Repurchase Etude House Hand Bouquet Rich Butter Hand Cream?

This is going to be on my must buy list when I visit the States next!
