Etude House Nail Remover Mild Review

This is the review of the second nail paint remover by a Korean brand. I usually buy nail paint removers from my local drug store and not really put a lot of thought in its quality or performance. In my recent Korean makeup haul, I decided to add two nail paint removers as well to see if they are gentler than the usual drugstore ones that I buy. I bought two: one by the brand Missha and other by Etude House. In this post, I review the one by Etude House.

Etude House Nail Remover Mild Review

Price: $2
Product Description:
The nail remover effectively removes polish while moisturizing nails.

My Experience with Etude House Nail Remover Mild:

Like I mentioned in my previous post about Missha nail paint remover, I do not wear nail paints often because first, I don’t like the nail paint removal process. Second, I don’t wear rubber gloves while doing my dishes or cleaning my house and that ruins the nail paint and chips it. However, I do need nail paint remover for the occasions when I do have to remove nail paint or clean up messy nail job.

The product comes in a clear, pink color plastic bottle with a pink cap on top. The packaging is disappointing because the opening dispenses a lot of product at a time and causes a lot of spillage. I wish it had a smaller opening or a spray nozzle or something to prevent product wastage.

The biggest disadvantage of the product is that the entire ingredient list is not disclosed. Only a list of essential oils present in the remover is mentioned on the American website (maybe the Korean website has a detailed ingredient list). I am not sure if and how much acetone it contains. But I am sure that it does contain acetone (has a subtle acetone smell), the percentage is not disclosed in English.

Etude House Nail Remover Mild in Hand

All those who are wary of using acetone on their skin should avoid it. The consistency of the product is like water or rather the usual nail paint remover. The product is pink in color and has a strawberry fragrance. This product can be used to remove gel nail paint as well. The best way to do that is to follow what the beauticians do in the salon.

Start by lightly scraping of the surface of nails with a file to easily remove the gel. Then soak a cotton pad with remover and place it onto nails and wrap with foil. After 10-15 minutes, remove the foil and gently push away the gel with a pusher. This process does damage the nails but this is how gel and powder nails are removed. It is an affordable nail paint remover which contains some essential oils that are beneficial for nails and cuticles.

• A small quantity is needed at a time.
• Easily available online.
• Appears to contain acetone but is not too harsh on nails or cuticles.
• Has a subtle strawberry fragrance.
• Removes the paint easily without excessive rubbing or prolonged soaking.
• Removes gel nail paint as well but requires longer soaking of the nails.

Cons of Etude House Nail Remover Mild:

• The bottle opening causes a lot of spillage and wastage of product.
• The complete ingredient list is not disclosed in English.
• Not sure about the acetone percentage.

IMBB Rating: 4.5/5
Verdict: This product is affordable and performs well. It removed my nail paint without drying my cuticles or excessive rubbing. It also works well for gel paint removal.
